Between CBC, The Score and Sportsnet, all of Toronto FC's games will reach Canadian airwaves, and their Oct. 4 home game against New York will air live across the U.S. on ESPN2. But MLS has no broadcast deal here, and no Canadian broadcasters have plans to show games that don't involve Toronto FC.

fox sports world canada usually start showing mls games in July up here, and now we have WSBK boston's superstation showing REVS games so we do see some MLS games, just not enough!! When is MLS back on ABC?

Sounds like Mo, is looking for EXCUSES! The lack of televised MLS game has nothing to do with the lack of ability on the pitch and to add, better coaching and game films of the opposing team is the best way for teams to get familiar with opponents. To say a lack of MLS coverage is part of the reason for poor field play and a non excising defense is just a poor excuse to cover lacking abilities in coaching and game preparation... Canadas lacking MLS coverage is an whole other issue that has nothing to do with the abilities of Toronto FC's field play!!!!!!

I'm disappointed in Mo Johnston. What a pathetic excuse for his players not watching league games.

Hey Mo, tell your players to log on to the MLS website and they can watch all the games they want.

Doesn't really matter which of these games are on ABC. They're being carried on CBC anyway.

I'm looking forward to being able to compare both CBC and ESPN broadcasts for the All-Star Game (since I'm lucky enough to be close to the Canadian border to receive both channels:D)

right. but nobody is willing to pay MLS monthly subscription fee in order to watch MLS games that don't involve Toronto F.C.

It's a one time $20 fee for the whole season. There is no "monthly subscription fee."

Who wants to sit in front of a computer and watch a football match?

I do....not necessarily saying that I prefer it, but it's the only way I get to watch MLS and the USMNT from SE Asia....besides, if you have a nice enough monitor it's not so bad.;)

Just for the record, I don't actually subscribe to MLSLive TV....I have a broadband connection but it doesn't seem to be fast enough for streaming video from the US. Instead I've gotten into bittorrent and I download all of the MLS and USMNT matches that are made available by the wonderful people in the Official U.S. Soccer web torrents thread and the MLS game torrents.... thread (and also over at MaXxed).

The MLS on the internet is the way most fans out of Europe and other places in the world watch and follow our league. So if Canada's sports networks don't cover other MLS games, the many that do care can follow on the net for now. This is the first year for MLS in Canada, give it time and things will change!

But Mo should not use that as an excuse for them lacking on the field!!!

I'd prefer to watch it on TV, but my cable provider doesn't offer direct kick.

what a hack. mo, you're a professional. get one of your buddies in new york to overnight you video tapes instead of bitching about the lack of tv coverage.

i sincerely hope that he's just trying to pull a lalas and generate some interest in the league, but this just sounds like a poor excuse.

The CBC is broadcasting Saturday's TFC home opener. I'm curious to see the quality of the broadcast, as well as the work of play-by-play man Nigel Reed.

Yes it is a shame that it is difficult to watch MLS games not involving
TFC. I subscribed to MLStv for the season and I will watch soccer on
any screen big or small. I watched the RSL-Rapids game last night and
though the quality wasn't the absolute best I enjoyed the match. I was
rooting for RSL. Where the f*** are their fans?

It was a week night.....the reported attendance was 14,173....they usually have a couple thousand more for weekend (Saturday) matches.
