By my calculations the chance of one or more succesful applications was about 15% (Together with a couple of friends we did eleven apps). So, indeed....i couldn't ask for more... I hope more BSers are succesful

This is unbelievable. In total I applied 3 different applications for FMT-Group (Sweden) and didnt get any. I also applied 2 more applications for in total 14 IMT-tickets but was unlucky there aswell =(
I took the high risk strategy of applying for the maximum number allowed (19 games) even though I only really wanted one or two. As I'd be happy to go to any game I figured that what with the ridiculous number of applicants that would be my best bet. Just got the email saying I've got nothing! There had been a part of me that was actually a bit worried that I'd get too many tickets! Even if they do make more available at a later date, if it's anything like phase 4 and 5 I really don't know if I could go through that again.
Maybe its because all the winners got struck by lightning. Hey, same odds. Unfortunately, the real reason we don't hear from many winners is because most of the winners are scalpers who have no big interest in football. Hence, they aren't BigSoccer posters.
Say what you want, weve all been through 4 and 5 but call me crazy or whatever, I really enjoyed those phases. When you log in to fifa and you see all Green, All Yellow some semis turning green, yellow... What a feeling!!!!!!!!!!! Of course my results were great, maybe thats why It didnt bother me that much. I got 7 matches, all knowckout phases including 2 semis. For euro 2008, it seems like I wont even be able to watch Israel/Russia vs Greece

I'm in!!! 3 FMT Group phase for Greece! I guess apparently the e-mails went mainly to unsuccessfuls - I didn't get any e-mail on this application, but logged in and found out I had been allocated the tix. Now just need to keep fingers crossed that they don't screw up and miss on qualifying... After all of the madness of WC 2006, I'll be happy my f5 key doesn't have to see any action.
0 from 6 games here. Maybe if they'd put a limit on games, say 6 rather then 19, then some of the lesser games would have offered a better chance. Too late now though. The whole process seemed rather amateurish compared to the world cup. Still, for those willing to go without tickets I bet there'll be a nice healthy black market out there.
I agree with what you're saying Richard even though I applied for 19. I only applied for so many because with the system they used I figured that would maximise my chances. As for the black market, I would say that the system as good as invited multiple applications from touts. Then the f*ckwit who came up with the idea will complain about the number of tickets on ebay.
Yes. And I wonder if it should be an all-or-nothing thing, so that you know you'll either get all the tickets you apply for, or get none at all. With your chance of success being higher, the fewer tickets you apply for. Something like that, maybe?
Yes, I'm hoping. My family is from Greece originally, so that's why I'm following them. As with many Americans, for Euro we take a rooting interest in the lands of our ancestors. I'm always cheering for them, but for these next several months, it will now rise to another level with my tickets riding on their success.

Same here. I didn't receive an email for either of my applications. But I logged in to Euro2008.com and saw I came up empty with one application and the other I was allocated 4 quarterfinal tickets.

They probably made several hundred applications in different names and are now selling any tickets they got at ridiculous prices. To be honest I've never used such a site, couldn't say if they can be trusted or not. As the tournament gets nearer you'll probably see many (VERY many) tickets on ebay.
A lot of people used razorgator successfully for the world cup. I got my Socceroos v Brazil ticket through them, no problem. Will probably be cheaper now than they will be a month before the tournament, from memory I paid about $500US (about $680 Aus) just after the draw and a month before the tournament the same tickets were selling for over $1,000 U.S.
