So... How many of the 2006 scarves remain?

Any chance that we can put a new scarf into production?

I'd really like to have a scarf that honors our time at Arrowhead. "1996 - Arrowhead's Champions - 2007".

    Any interest?

There were a ton of great designs last year that we didn't make - and I do really like the one we did.

We just had 150 of the same design that we had made last year. I'm sure those will sell, and I think a new design for next season is a better idea.

Well then you are just not in the know then. ;) This isn't the only Wizards forum btw. I think most of the talk about this went down over there.

I think it was talked about on BS too. But yeah, we'll look into a different next season. Hopefully we can put our new "home" on it once we find out.

Well, it's nice to know there's an even more exclusive and exclusionary place for and even smaller subset of Wizards to discuss things.

I know collecting scarves is one of your things but sometimes the scarves are going to be the same year to year. Just the way things are going to happen.

Is it still possible to purchase a scarf? I'd be interested if its possible.

Which has always been one of the perceptions about the Mystics and now the Cauldron.

And being out of town, I'm boned if I really want to see a new design - and not because I collect. I think it looks great to see a wide variety of different designs when a section shows their support - and less like a promotional item handed out at the gate upon entry.

If I do it myself, I'm sure enough of you folks would see it as a personal attack, which would make it even harder for me to sell the scarves.

The first I heard about another forum was a couple of days ago when someone pointed it out to some newbie.

And I certainly didn't see any discussion of it here - and any discussion in the community thread might as well be on the moon.

Let me try to explain from my view as to why we didn't do new scarves this year, and instead just went with the old one we used last season. The impression after selling out the scarves last season, was that there was still demand for this type of design. This impression turned out to be true as there were people who contacted the Cauldron website, or contacted someone in the Cauldron directly looking for the scarves. A decision was made to make more of the same kind, but less then the original order last year. So with there still being demand no one wanted to make a new scarf for this year. Plus it was thought that a new scarf wouldn't be wanted as there was nothing new to add on to the scarf.

And let me just add my 2-cents.

With the expectation of the team moving into a new permanent home (expected for 2009, but who knows) and the possibility of name change/color change/re-branding, there would be a need for a new supporter scarf for that season to represent all of the changes. I like the idea of a "tribute" scarf, paying homage to Arrowhead, and if we do get moving towards our new digs it could definitely be an option for next year.

Don't come at me with that stuff. I have posted many times that I disagree with the Cauldron forum. I haven't even been over there for a few weeks, because I agree with exactly what you are saying.

I hope you're not talking about me. That said, I still think waiting is a good idea. By all means though, if you did one on your own I would probably buy one. But unless you have a lot of them at every game, you're not going to make your money back.

As a fan of MLS, specifically the Wizards, but a fan of the league overall, I am sure you have noticed that most supporter groups have their own web sites and forums outside of Big Soccer. There was not intent to create "an even more exclusive and exclusionary place", we wanted a somewhat private forum where members of the Cauldron supporter section could discuss Cauldron-related topics without the discussions being aired for everyone world-wide.

If it is coming across as "an even more exclusive and exclusionary place", then there is a perception problem that needs to be addressed. The Cauldron forum is open to all members of the Cauldron (and non-members as well, you just have to sign-up). I think there is something like 63 members on that forum, so it's not that hidden from view.

Andy, you are welcome to head over any time you like: http://kccauldron.11.forumer.com/

Yes, we still have scarves left. They are $20 a piece.

We will be selling them at the tailgate before all of the games, so you can come by and pick one up before the FC Dallas match; or if you want it sooner than that pm either myself or KCRovert and we will work out getting you one.
