Twellman thinks the lemonade is crap. He said so on the internet feed, apparently not realizing he was on the air. Heh.

Good game by TT. He had 3 chances and scored 2 of them, a pretty good record. Good games by pretty much everyone. Twellman and especially Khano for busting the game wide open by dominating the left side for the first half of the game win my man of the match.

    Bring on the Crew.

Great all around play by the Revs. Reis never tested as Heaps, Riley and John played cleaned up what little got past Sharlie and Jeff.
Flank play was very good. Ralston noticeably slower but did have some influence on the game. Khano was a handful for Mulrooney and Canizalez. Cristman and Taylor looked very good. Cristman's work rate is very good.
Dorman had a decent showing as well. Wells came on and had few good touches and a nice run into the box...he also had a bad give away in his one penalty area but it did not result in anything.
Over all good showing by the Revs, TFC showed nothing. No attach at all. Casey should start. He is a horse and hard to stop. Esky and Buddle were no threat at all.

Our midfield just shut down theirs tonight. Really nice to see. :)

Not to touch a hot topic, but IMO the field turf actually looked like a better surface to play on then the crap we usually had in April. I'm not saying I wouldn't have a nice grass field, but it could have been a lot worse.

So, did Shalrie actually score on a PK? Matchtracker seems to have missed it, and MLSnet has the score as 3-0...

Yup. Cristman earned it through fantastic positioning. He made up for the opportunity he had earlier.

    4-0.

Well, you guys played well, I expected more from TFC... I knew that your strikers were some of the best in the league but your defenders were so much better than I expected, they made almost every tackle.

Except for that late tackle from John. Yikes.

It's tough for most expansion teams. Chicago brought in a superior group of internationals to take the cup in '98. Every other team has had a rough time their first season.

    Wowza.

Maybe that was partly TFC being really bad (Nagamura at least put in his miles, but Robinson was invisible, Canizales and Buddle were incompetent, "Lurch" Boyens was completely out of his depth, Mulrooney and Eskandarian looked pedestrian, and the other guys were completely forgettable.)

The Revs put on a clinic for much of the game. Interesting that all the dangerous attacks in the first 30' came from the left side. Twellman has needed a player like Cristman his entire career. Whatever else Twellman is, he is not physically imposing. Neither is Noonan. Cristman is a guy who seems fine with guys trying to climb up his back. He will be the player who will absorb a lot of the physical punishment that Twellman has been enduring for the past 5 years. If his job is only to lay the ball off for Twellman, he will earn his money ten times over.

The midfield starting to resemble the three-headed beast Dorentoseph. Ralston is still clever, but you wonder if there won't be a point when he makes way for Noonan on the right wing. Reis, John, Heaps and Riley just being themselves.

Thursday we play a team that hasn't scored or allowed a goal in two games. What's that about?

You can look forward to Buddle executing better finishing. He had great chances at finishing after working well to get in quality position.

Give your team time to gel and you'll lift production.

Looks like the Khano Smith Project may be starting to pay dividends.
Thompson also showed well when he replaced him. A lot of the attack is going to come down the left this season.

Sign Shalrie and we're good to go for silverware.

Yup. Most effectively consistent game in a Revs jersey.

If Ralston ever needed to rest a game, I would love to see this lineup:

    ------------Reis-------------
    -------Normal Backline-------
    --Larentowicz--Joseph-------
    Noonan----Dorman-----Smith
    -----Cristman--Twellman----

BTW, Larentowicz plays a great holding mid with Joseph in the game. Dorman is also unafraid to make those deep runs.

Wow just got home from the game... great doubleheader... Stayed in my section
til the second half of the revs game, then the opportunity to hit the Fort was too much to pass up. Good to see Ed far from sober, and hopefully see you guys at the next home game for the tailgate.

Crowd sounded fantastic on TV. I'm really rooting for this Cristman kid as I referee quite a bit with his dad down here in Richmond!

I was also awestruck at the footwork we did. almost everyone did the scissors (dorman, smith...) and GREAT bike by John.

It was WILD, and I can't get Over it!! merely 3 hours ago, I was a Showwa-Uppa-Revs-Win-a-Game-For-Yeah Virgin! (never won a game in the times I attended)

:D My face will look like that all night.

Attendance was a little over 18k which was solid, nothing great considering the circumstances, but not bad at all.

    I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.

However, you'll notice The Fort chanting "the wave stops here". We don't play that game.

I don't know what you can take away from this game, other than that Toronto is really, really awful. (And they only looked maybe a smidge better against Chivas last week.) Eskandarian looks like he's about 2 games away from strangling an opponent to death with his bare hands out of frustration.

Still, good job by the Revs on beating the team that was put out there in front of them.

Naah, didn't hear it. But Khano's got a fanclub in section 117, they were a riot every time he got the ball. Some people behind me kept yelling 'Go Home' to the traveling TFC fans, and I tried starting the 'Ole' chant, but only two other people knew how to sing, one was too shy to sing with me and we never got the crowd into it.

Brilliant game, maybe the turf's lucky?

--And will they re-air this game? If so, when?

Just came back from the match. Field looks nice. Can only imagine how hot that stadium will be in July & August. Random thoughts on the game.

Great possession by the Rev's. Totally dominated play in the first 20 minutes. TFC's goalie touched the ball at least 5 times in the first 5 minutes. Reis didn't see the ball until about the 15th minute.

Glad to see Reis get the shutout. Did you see when Esky took out Matt's legs and then offered his hand? Reis waved him off. Esky must be dead to him.....

Nice finishes by TnT. He could have had a hat trick by the 20th minute.

Incisive runs by Khano, TFC couldn't match his speed.

Dorman continues to improve. Not quite Clint Dempsey, but he's heading in the right direction. Great finish on his goal.

Wells Thompson unleashed a corker. Great dipping shot that we nearly scored on the rebound. He is the future and will someday replace Ralston. Smith and Thompson on the wings makes for a very quick team.

Riley was solid and unflappable as the last man.

Cristman is good but gets knocked to the ground too much. He was pulled to the ground for he PK. Great assist on Twellman's first goal. I'd still prefer a healthy Noonan over Cristman.

Shalrie was solid and as cool as ever. Ice water in his veins.

Best Chant from "The Fort" = "Stick to Hockey"

Worst Soccer Mom comment pre-game = "Isn't JoJo Lindsay Lohan????"

Worst Soccer Dad "longtime season ticket holder"comment = " A cautionary yellow card? Is that a fake yellow? Does that mean the he has to sit out the rest of the half?"
