I've moved to a Campbell address. I'm not sure, but I think I may be in SJ District 1. It's weird looking at the district maps I really can't figure it out but I have something that says that Cindy Chavez is my council person (but I know that is so not current).

    Hmmmm.....must figure this out.

They will be happy to accept input from non-residents too!

I've gotten very nice letters back from some of these folks, even though I'm very clear about living in another state. The point I make is:

If you help bring back OUR Quakes, I'll spend money, and lots of it, in your city. If you don't, I'll spend my money elsewhere.

    They like to hear that!

    QUAKES FOREVER!!
SSV RULE LIKE GODS AND GODDESSES ON HIGH!!!!!

What Mark said! I too do not live im San Jose but have always made a point in my missives that supporting the Quakes will be cause for me to spend money and bring visitors to San Jose. Nothing gets their attention like money!

If you live in District 1 near the Campbell border, your councilmember is Pete Constant.

When I lived in Cupertino I was one of the biggest letter writers of 'em all! :p

Of course it doesn't matter exactly where you live, but it does appear that I'm in District 1.

Campbell is a whole different city with it's own government. If you have a Campbell address, I would think you don't have a representative on the San Jose council. But what do I know.

I'm guessing you could still write to the council though. Just let them know you live a neighboring city and are a long time Quakes fan and would love to spend money in San Jose at their fancy new stadium and the surrounding areas. :)

So, I should have kept reading before I replied. Don is much more knowledgable on this than I am.

But in any case, I'd still think it's okay to write anyway. You are a Quake fan, season ticket holder, etc wanting to spend your money in their city. So why not?

Let me encourage anyone and everyone to do so, no matter how far you are from SJ. I told them I'm in Concord, and have already received a number of replies.

Yep. More often than not, writers don't look like this:

I always wondered if SSV along with (or even instead of) Lew Wolff ever approached the Bay Area big wigs Cisco, Google, Yahoo or Apple about buying the Quakes & possibly building a potential SSS?

Yes, we did. We found many silicon valley folks willing to invest, but none willing to lead the charge.

Really? So it was only Lew? Too bad Eddie D couldn't step up. I mean after the NFL took the 49ers away from him. Can you name names or is it a big secret? I mean if you say it will you be killed?:D

This is kind of annoying (not you specifically sjqf - no one specifically). Hey. You guys don't have to encourage me to write.

    Are you kidding?!

And I encourage everyone who has any interest at all in soccer to write. That's includes YOU on BigSoccer reading this thread, no matter where in the world you are.

My message was sent within about 2 minutes of reading the SSV request. Since Chuck Reed had responded to a message I sent back when the Quakes were still in town, I was able to use that short message as a place to start this message (he did tell me he was a San Jose Earthquakes fan in that old message). This guy has a chance to show his stuff right now.

I'm sorry you feel annoyed, whether by me or noone specifically. I know you don't need to be encouraged to write. I guess my comments were posted more to everyone or anyone. I'm just saying regardless of where anyone lives, they should write. I mean, shouldn't everyone be encouraged to write? I guess all I'm saying is WRITE! to everyone, anyone, or noone specifically. :)

Okay, I won't go on. I am sorry you feel/felt annoyed.

What about interest from (SJ FROGS) Esslinger & (CA VICTORY)Pitterman? I'm sure we would have a pretty good team if they combined their forces with UNCLE LEW. No joint venture for Our new Quakes project?

Pitterman was not interested in MLS. Frogs not wealthy enough. What you need, and what we have now, is someone wealthy enough who is willing to "carry the flag". Because as you see now, obstacles emerge and someone with fortitude is required.

    Has everyone written yet?
