that was a good read he seems to have knowledge about the beautiful game. He did not bad mouth the MLS just said it was different than European football.
Exactly. Chad Johnson, is a prime example that actually the best talented kids in US don't play soccer. If Chad was french I bet you that he would be a world soccer player. Chad is a prime athlete that USMNT and MLS lack.
Hmm. Can anyone say "two-sport athlete"? Especially considering there's only a month and a half of overlap between MLS and NFL... "Dear Sigi Schmid...please check out this potential striker in Cincinnati..."
Then Cincinnati Been Jailed's are going no where. I do think they have the best team in America (Corrections League that is).
Ok, I hope that was in jest. CJ hasn't played serious soccer since before HS. It's very unlikely he'd be able to do much at this point in his career. As for the overlap, NFL teams hold several mini-camps before the July start of training camp. Much too great of an overlap. In addition, it's extremely doubtful that a multimillion dollar star like CJ would risk his NFL career for a couple months of MLS which would only earn him a couple hundred thousand at best. He likely makes more than that in workout bonuses.
While talking about other sport stars and their soccer skills...Y'all know Steve Nash is hardcore too? Go to You tube and search for Steve Nash soccer and you'll find interesting stuff.. NBA MVP 2 MLS!!!!
Nash was talking about it at what I think was last year's All-Star slam dunk contest. He helped out someone by heading the ball to them to let them dunk it after it was tossed to him.
He does more than 'help head the ball in' he's the entire show! (but I don't think this is from the All star game) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehvrkKwCTqA Nash is hardcore http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xU4rSsp20_Q&mode=related&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRvCzDJrGUY&mode=related&search= He moved to NY just to play soccer one summer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU9jSdHP_Mw&mode=related&search=
I read and watched the Chad Johnson interview on Soccernet on ESPN, and I wondered, what if he was to become a two sport star, play for the Bengals in football and play for Columbus in soccer. Maybe MLS would allow him to wear the "Ocho Cinco" on the back of his jersey
