You can always ask the Fire fans about all those Olimpiakos tickets they bought.

The only question now is how different the Blackburn team will be from its current form. Depending on which papers you read, its about to be torn apart by the bigger clubs.

Let me try to clear this up a bit. First of all the schedule that was sent out by one of our sales reps should not have been sent. He had heard that the Blackburn game was approved and went ahead and dropped it into his schedule that he sends out to his clients. The problem is that just because a game is approved doesn't mean that there is a signed agreement which in this case there is not. We set up the game on Ticketmaster so that we will be ready to sell tickets immediately if/when there is a signed agreement. Unfortunately there are still negotiations taking place and until there is a signed agreement and a formal annoucement from the team there is no match. I apologize for the confusion and hope tht we will have a formal annoucement (one way or the other by the beginning of next week).

    Thanks,
    Stephen

Thank you Stephen for clearing things up a bit. Hopefully, things will work out and DCU will have another opportunity to defeat a Premiership club.

    Cheers, GQ :)

US/Brazil is highly possible, but there can't be a US/Mexico semifinal. Regardless of their position in their groups, if the US is in a semi, it'll be in Miami, and if Mexico is in a semi, it'll be in Mexico City.

It's a safe bet that Friedel and Keller will not both be on the squad for that tournament and Keller has been reported as saying he expects to report for the Gold Cup camp.

I don't know where to put my money on that one! :)

I was too lazy to see if the split went beyond the Quarterfinals. I guess so. Hopefully we'll only have to get past either Canada or Cuba. Though it might be interesting to see the US get beat by Costa Rica in Foxborough just to A) shut up the fools that think Steve Sampson was the worst manager that ever lived (he isn't - he's not as good as Bora or Bruce, but he ain't the worst), and B) shut up the the crowd that wants all National Team games in Boston "because we always win there."

I don't really hope that we lose. I'm in for the the Saturday-Monday games. The 19th will depend on last minute "fare savers". If I get a cheap one, I'll go, otherwise I won't.

I've started tracking fares to Miami for both the semifinal and the 3rd place match. Don't know if I'll bite on either/both. The Women's World Cup is going to kill me.

I dunno about Miami, but Southwest flies to Orange County, CA, either SF or SJ, Baltimore/Washington International (also convenient for Philly), and Columbus, in addition to Dallas, KC, and Providence (Foxboro). So except for Seattle you can do pretty well by Southwest. And they give you a free flight with 8 roundtrips.

Southwest goes to Ft. Lauderdale, so is an option for Miami. They do also go to Seattle. Also, they give you double credits if you book online, so you can get a free flight after just four roundtrips.

Just to let you know that friedel will be playing in DC with the mighty rovers! He has decided to take the summer off from international duty because he hasn't had a break for years with qualifiers, the world cup and injuries etc.
Looking forward to what should be a good game. We will be at full strength, with a few quality additions to the squad! will you or will players be releaed for the confederations cup?

The Confederations Cup will be over, but the CONCACAF Gold Cup will be in full swing. The DC United/Blackburn Rovers match is the same night as the semifinal of the Gold Cup.

If the US advances that far (which would seem likely), DC United will likely be missing Bobby Convey and could be missing one or two among: Earnie Stewart, Nick Rimando, or Ben Olsen (with a couple of others having a very outside chance of being in that US squad).
