I received an updated schedule yesterday and it shows that we face Rovers on Wednesday, July 23 @ 7:30.
SWEET! Thanks for the infor Bryan76! Another excuse to PARTY! And we know DC United always beats those EPL teams...
ROVERS/FRIEDEL Yes!Yes!Yes!Yes! Finally a decent goalie in RFK! The world's best keeper. Brad Friedel, and the world's best soccer team, the Blackburn Rovers, at DCU! All we need now is good weather! Maybe DCU's Nick Rimaldo can take notes from the Master! I Can't Wait! IntheNet God said "Bring me the world's best soccer goalie; so I brought Brad Friedel and God was pleased!"
Yeah, I can't find any proof of it either. I can fiind a whole lot of stuff that's close-to-proven, though.
I take back my comment about Bryan. I trust Chris Bergin more than either Zack or Bryan. Chris over on ussocceruk.com is saying its penciled in. thats good enough for me
Before we get into an almighty spat over the relative merits of Chris Bergin and USSoccerUK.com-- He runs a news site. He gets information and puts it either on his site or on his forums, which operate in a rather different manner from BigSoccer in my opinion. People are entitled to their opinions about other people but please do acknowledge the fact that he does run a news site in addition to boards.
Oh no, not again. ---- The main problem with July 23rd is that it is potentially opposite a USA/Mexico or USA/Brazil Gold Cup semifinal....
My apologies, it was on the ticket order form I received from United as part of my duties as club liason for Kirkwood. If that was not the correct schedule, I am assuming I should not post it and have parents buy tickets? What a cluster OK I'm offended now. How dare you confuse me with InThe"Only if they improve"Net
Fair point. But at the same time: 1) We don't know if Friedel will be on the Gold Cup roster or not. And I'd be surprised if anyone can say either way for sure at this point. 2) If all the games are on pay-per-view then a lot of people aren't going to be able to watch them and would probably go to RFK anyway. DCU could probably also post updates of the game on the scoreboard if they wanted to, thus keeping people informed.
If this game is scheduled on July 23rd, and the US happens to be in the semi-final, then they better show the US game on the video screen at RFK, even if it's during the DCU game. But it would be cooler if it were immediately before or after.
Please, based on current league form, DCU players shouldn't be allowed into Summers to watch the game. Their residences should have Telemundo or whoever is showing the matches blacked out for that day. Sachin
I'm going to go ahead and believe what the GM of the team is saying rather than Chris Bergin. (No comment on what I think of him)
Here is why I made the statement. I received this from DC http://www.eteamz.com/kirkwood/files/2003Grouporderform.pdf
