While it may seem to be impossible, miracles do happen.

Just look at the England rugby player Jonny Wilkinson. After scoring the winning dropgoal in the 2003 Rugby World Cup, he was never able to put together a string of more then a few games due to injury. But a couple weeks ago he pulled on an England shirt for their 6Nations (the equivelent of EURO 2008) debut for the first time in 4 years. He was the man of the match.

Here is an interesting graphic showing his 11 injuries.

I was just looking at a game with Ramos in it, to remind me how good Ramos really was. My conclusion is he is as good as JOB, although Ramos liked going down the sideline more, where I think Johnny O can take it up the middle, and attack more effectively. I think they're equal in passing. Both are tricky, but I think JOB has a few more tricks. Defensively Johnny O is better. Shooting wise Ramos wins hands down. He could have scored 20 goals if he would have shot more. He is one of the most accurate hard shooters I ever saw on the USMNT. Another thing Ramos got's the advantage over JOB is burst of speed. In this particular game I was watching, he blew by defenders on a number of occasions. I've seen him do that so many times. He lures a defender than he kicks the ball by them and out runs them.

Armas wasn't 100% back from his last knee surgery. As I posted earlier, Arena allowed Armas a late push to show whether he was fully fit and WC ready. JOB & Armas were competing for one low risk high reward spot. In the end, Arena didn't think Armas' knee was ready.

Has JOB been playing with anyone in the preseason? Is he finished?

    Rugby players are not human.

Seriously. Soccer players avoid rugby for a reason.

I heard he was preseason training with both Chivas USA and NYRB but that he isn't in either camp now.

No updates, but I'd like to add the name of Preki to the Ramos, Reyna, JOB triumverate of creative U.S. players. Though its fair to say we didn't "produce" him.

How can such a highly regarded player not be on any team and not have anyone in the media discuss it?

He's been hurt for so long now, it hardly seems like news anymore.

I think it's pretty much safe to consider him retired. At the very least, he's done with international play.

even if he was back on a club, with his injury history he's not reliable for the us. His age and time hurt hasnt helped either. let's all just stick a fork in this guy cause he's done.
