Re: Dado Prso contemplating Galaxy move

Ok first, he is not considering a move to the Galaxy. If you read correctly, it states he is considering a move similar to LA Galaxy bound Beckham to the US League. That in no way ties him to the Galaxy.
Second, the Galaxy will not be signing any DP level players because at this point, they have Beckham and Donovan and will need a second DP slot to even keep both of them in 2008.

Can't people remember these simple facts and not assume every Euro who mentions the Galaxy is coming to the Galaxy? They only know that name because it's recognized worldwide now.

Can a mod change the thread title???

actually dc united is more recognized abroad

the galaxy have recently been popularized by the beckham move, and since the new beckham move involves the galaxy, any beckham like move, will have the words galaxy next to it

no, i'm not being dcunited bias, its just true

    back to topic,

prso would fit well in kansas city, they kinda need a target forward who's willing to play, unless eddie johnson wants to start playing again

holla, I've always liked Dado Prso, I still think he's got some fire left and would be a good fit in MLS

Absolutely know way in knowing this.

The Pats were the most popular team in the UK last year according to a poll. There's never been a poll like that for MLS.

I do agree about Prso's workrate. He may completely brake down in two years because of it, but he would grind out goals in MLS.

Plus he has a pony tail, which is probably worth one, two extra fans a game.

First of all, I stole the title from the origonal article so dont bust my balls and cry for a moderator. Secondly, the fact that Landon is on the team only keeps them from using the DP slot next year so this year it is possible to sign him and trade him off next year. Finally, I am drugged up after my Achilles surgery yesterday adn I sholdnt of put this in News anyways because it hasnt had enough motion behind it. I do appologize for that so sorry.

This has been reported in other media as well.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/6507141.stm

I think these quotes from the Soccer365 article should end the rumor pretty quickly:

"Dado Prso could be set for a lucrative contract in the United States or Far East."

"I have the option of playing in an easier league, where things are not quite so intense, but I don't know."

And this similar quote from the bbc article.

"Prso will not retire but will instead look for another club where the physical demands are not so high."

And this good article about Prso and his MLS ambition:
    http://www.squarefootball.net/article/transfer.asp?tid=411

Okay, he has been habitually injured, wants a "lucrative contract" and wants to play in an "easier league".

Goodbye MLS, hello Dubai. Prso meet Figo, Figo meet Prso.

    Having said all of that:

I like Prso, and I think he would do well in MLS, but I do not think that MLS is an "easier league" than SPL, except for the Old Firm games.

MLS has better competition (outside of the Old Firm), better facilities, better weather, and better attendance (SPL is averaging 16,145 per game, mostly because of Rangers and Celtic, without the Old Firm included, the average is 8,618, MLS is around 15,400, but no teams completely screw up the average, and this year attendance will probably over 16,145). MLS is not an easier league.

    Cite for SPL attendance http://www.scotprem.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Attendance/0,,10002~20063,00.html

Also, I do not see him getting a "lucrative contract" in MLS. Would a team sign him as a DP? He must be making a lot more at Rangers than any MLS team would be willing to pay him, especially considering his age (32) and history of knee problems.

If he is healthy, I would be happy for him to play for the Fire, or any MLS team. But he is a big gamble for a DP, and he obviously wants DP-type money.

Of course, the Fire are looking to waste their future on Blanco, and I would much rather have Prso.

I just do not trust his health and desire for a lot of money in an "easier league".

Funny. I saw a Galaxy jersey when I was in Costa Rica. Also, I saw a few Trinidadians in Germany wearing Galaxy jerseys. But no DC jerseys. Therefore Galaxy is ruler of the world. DC just cries into their pillow.

Seriously - Attn: all DC-fans - Not every goddamn thread is here to hijack into a "DC is the crown jewel of MLS" discussion. Cut it out.

When I served in Vietnam, there were loads of people running around in DC jerseys.

    And I shot them all.

Oh, nevermind, those were enemy soldiers in black pajamas. :D

I read about it on Croatian sites few days ago so looks like they're just running same story now and quoting his manager.

He'd fit good in Metros with his blown out knee :D

PS Dubai is not far east, far east is Japan and such :p

Another injured Euro looking for a last pay to take it easy:rolleyes: .

    Not happening here.

Of course Scotland is sooooo much tougher and better than MLS:rolleyes: .

I love it when a guy from a league like Scotland and it's two headed moster makes comments like this. Talk about ignorance.

Sorry about his knee. Good player, just living in lala land.

Does Rangers play itself or Celtic 30 times a year?

    What's you point?

OK, they have some Euro matches where most of the time they bomb out early on, and not against the best comp. He isn't playing very good comp day in and day out. Fact.

Then he says he wants to come here and take it easy. That's a laugh. Plain and simple.

How can a Las Vegas Outlaws jersey go global when you and your neighbor live in Texas? Last time I checked Texas is in the United States.:p Nice try buddy.
