Just heard on FSRM. Tuesday, 7 pm, Sand Creek Stadium, right next to Sky Sox Stadium in the Springs, if there's any folks on the boards from there. For anyone who may go down I-25, I found a Sky Sox map. Bleyer (sp?) or Stout said it was next to that anyway. http://www.skysox.com/subpage.asp?page=map
Rapids announced this back on April 28th... and even posted it to their website (as well as sent it out through Rapidfire) the information below is from http://www.coloradorapids.com/site/goal.asp?cid=356
From today's Rapidfire... who knows how closely it resembles what the starting 11 will be, but interesting combinations nonetheless... Also interesting that the bottom of the RapidFire had a link to the BigSoccer boards here... I'm not sure who how much the conversations here the last week or two will do for Rapids "marketing"...
3 Forwards NOTE: On Rapids Radio Hankinson stated that 3 forwards wasn't the solution. Pablo in the back - seems like his grasping for something, anything ...
Yikes Pablo in the back is a little scary, unless he becomes a lot more cautious and a lot less reckless with his fouling.
Unbelievable. Boulder 1 - Rapids 0 (on an own-goal). Against 80% of our starters in the 1st half, the Reserves beat the MLS side on a beautiful free kick that came into the box and a black&blue headed it past Garlick. Hell, the Reserves played the best set pieces all night. Zizi had a few into the wall, Wes the same, Seth no better. Towards the end, at least the Rapids weren't fighting over the free kick. How depressing...
Rapids 1st half lineup was something like: Carrieri......Schmidt ........Roberts......... Henderson.....Chung ..........Hart?.......... Stewart..Mastroeni..Herdsman..Crawford Garlick Second half saw a load of changes. Seth, Foss? (GK), #29?, Riso, Boercher(sp?),....
No goals It sounds like Boulder will be pretty strong again this year. I know they are still missing a number of key players but to have this type of result so early is a good sign. The Reserves have only been working together for a week or two while the Rapids have been training since February(?). Maybe Hankinson should be looking to make a few changes.
So I guess we won't be seeing this same lineup on Sunday? Sheesh, can't even get a goal in on the reserves? Something needs to change. Sooner than later.
Don't, but the BRR are a good take up at Pleasantview in Boulder when they start up. $5 tickets last year. Jason Thompson from last year's PDL runnerups was drafted by Dallas. Should there be a separate BRR thread?
Not to mention Natt Borchers was with the BRR last season. His play for the BRR as well the abilities he showed in occasional training sessions with the Rapids during 2002 led him to be a strong candidate in this year's preseason.
A chant: Bring on the reserves. Bring on the reserves. Bring on the reserves. Bring on the reserves. Maybe Seabolts the answer Maybe Seabolts the answer Maybe Seabolts the answer Maybe Seabolts the answer
At least the Rapids scored. This is getting sad. The only reason I'm not giving up on them is that some of the guys have a lot of pride (Spencer, Chung, Henderson, Fraser), and maybe they'll step up and lead this team. Hankinson clearly can't do it.
I'm beginning to think that the players have already given up on Hankinson and are just tanking it to get Hanky fired. This wouldn't be the first time this happened in MLS. IMO, nothing will change for this team until Hankinson is gone.
