Here's the thing about Mohinder not knowing it's Sylar, does he know what Sylar's powers are? I don't think that was ever exposed to Mohinder.
He only knows the one power because Syler stole it from emo dude and had to show it to Mohinder. I'd be surprised if Mohinder goes too much longer before he realizes what happened. For god's sake, Mohinder is a doctor. He can't be that thick.
More than anything else I like Peter taking on a harder edge and using Sylar's powers. I can only hope an epic battle happens between the two this season.
I only drop in on this show from time and time -- and it's surprisingly still very engaging even though I don't understand half of what's going on. But can someone fill me in on how Hiro lost his powers (although it seems he's getting them back)? I, too, noticed Stan Lee -- but largely because it was such an awkward cameo. I don't expect Lee to be any kind of actor, but what a clumsy, poorly portentous line to give him: "Are you all by yourself?" A simple, "Ya comin' or not kid?" would have been far less jarring.
Peter is more powerful than Sylar, now that he's figured out how to access his exposed abilities. As for Hiro, I think he too is learning how to control his abilities. Like how Peter needed to be "shocked" (er, thrown off a building) into grabbing control, Hiro found himself in a crisis where he needed his power. Stan Lee was credited at the beginning of the episode, so I was waiting for his cameo...
This show is becoming a guilty pleasure for me. Sometimes it is laugh out loud bad (Like when the Terry Bradshaw look-alike said anything, and when the Hiro/Ando shootout happened at night and the cops took the criminals away in broad daylight), but I still look forward to seeing it every week.
That was too obvious, though. I had assumed they meant someone else, as she had "Dead Meat" written all over her. -- I was thinking Mrs. Bennett, but this show has been going for the surprise in general, so I had crossed her off the list. I was thinking Matt's wife, but I guess she still has a big role to play. Mutant Baby, maybe?
I'm hoping that's what they build to for the season finale. At some point they've got to face off again, right?
They aired tommorw's ep. tonight on Global in Canada. It was a very interesting episode that revealed a bit about HRG's past. Don't want to spoil anything but just want to tell you to watch it since it was a VERY interesting episode.
I am going to look back on this episode in a year to see if I still feel the same way, but I have already been quoted on another site as saying that tonight's episode may have been the best non-sporting one hour of television that this man has ever seen!
i thought it was one of the better episodes of the series, but i think calling it the greatest one hour of tv is a little over the top.
AGREED! It was probably the best ep of the series so far, very focused and didn't loose that focus either. Best episode of tv ever... FAR from it. Best episode of Heroes to date... yeah. The show has finally started to grow on me. Kind of a related question for anyone with an HDTV. I recently got a nice HDTV and caught this ep on HD but it wasn't full screen. I was getting the vertical bars on each side. Is that common for NBC HD shows?
Definitely a great episode, and we discovered that H.R.G. and Claude both "killed" Claire's mom - or at least they thought they did. H.R.G.'s unnamed superior seemed to have an "Our Man Flint" look/vibe to him, accentuated even more in the black & white flashbacks. I didn't get any vertical bars. Did you check whether or not (a) you happened to watch the regular NBC channel, (b) your HDTV is currently set to have those vertical bars, or (c) your set-top box is set to have those vertical bars? -G
Wasn't there a really easy way to keep the boss from knowing Claire's ability, like the ********ing back door and then waiting 30 seconds until she regenerated.
Same here. This was the first time I watched Heroes in HD. It looked pretty amazing. My new TV was delivered on Saturday and I did get to watch SNL. Unfortunately SNL still sucks donkey balls. Heroes on the other is very good.
You should not get bars on the HD broadcasts. You should also see an NBC HD logo on the lower right or lower left corner (I forget which) immediately before and immediately after commercial breaks. If you're getting vertical bars and are not seeing the logo, you're not watching the HD version.
Am I the only one wondering why Parkman and especially HRG didn't get burned up/irradiated at the end of last night's episode? I mean, I know that Claire was got closer to him him than they did, but they were both in the room with him and had to have gotten a pretty nasty dose of radiation.
Yeah, I was watching the HD channel. I've watched other shows on our HDNBC channel without the vertical bars, but during Heroes and Black Donnellys they both had vertical bars which were a different color than all the other channels. The picture quality was HD, without a doubt, especially when I compared it to the SD NBC.
It must be something weird that your local NBC affiliate is doing. You should never see the vertical bars on the 16:9 HD broadcast.
