Go to Edinburgh instead. Get really drunk at the Royal Oak with the locals. See the Castle, the Scotch Whisky Museum, and the National Museum of Scotland. Get even more drunk at the Scotsman Lounge. If you've got money to burn stay at The Balmoral, The Scotsman, The Caledonian Hilton or the Intercontinental. Otherwise stay at the Iblis or one of the Apex Hotels, preferably the one in the Grassmarket. Good center for drinking and late night chips, or fried mars bars.

I've only come on to this forum because I'm looking for some travel advice so sorry if this is a little late.

The big nightclub in Belfast at the minute is "The Box". It's in the Odyseey complex. There is very easy access to the complex as you can get a train where you can get off at "Bridge End". Alternativley there is the "Beach Club" in the same complex so you have 2 to choose from.

As far as pubs go well I would suggest going on a pub crawl. Your not seriously thinking about coming to stay in one pub are you? ;)

I can't really think of many hotels but I would advise you to get one in the centre of Belfast.

Have fun if you haven't already been.

A place we recommend to stay in Belfast is a B&B called Tara Lodge. It's nicely located for exploring the city and about a 15 minute walk to the centre. The traditional Irish breakfast - bacon, eggs, sausages, black pudding, white pudding and brown soda bread - is a must.

Highly recommended by clients of my wife for value and customer care!

The Manor Park Hotel is located in the West End of Glasgow. The rates are very reasonable and there is a good bus service to the centre of the city. The hosts are most gracious and the breakfasts are excellent.

Highly recommended but advisable to book in advance!
