Notice how Lille's midfielders are staying back more in a defensive posture.. There are at least 7 defenders close to the box everytime United attack...We'll break them, just have to get that opening..

Thought the first 20 mins of the game was awful with both sides poor. United got their act together a bit for the rest of the half and started getting some action up front. But Lille are a strong defensive unit. Very hard to break down. They're keeping it tight and hoping to catch United on the break.

If the game continues to be this scrappy then I think 0-0 is the most likely result. But theres always the chance Lille will get a lucky break. I really would not like to see Lille coming back to OT with a lead to defend. They are the type of team that could frustrate United.

It's just ridiculous...I think Ronaldo at some stage also looked like he had a bit of discomfort. What the hell is the point of not letting the fans use the unoccupied tier. The club needs to lauch action with UEFA...we can't have our fans treated like this on European trips.

No changes for either side. VdS has recovered from the teargas.

I hope you're right but I think you're joking... Obraniak and Debuchy are terribly poor players. We didn't see them. We got quiet no chance to score.

All of the qualities of this team comes from the coach. Someone here remember maybe how Monaco 99-2000 played with him coaching Trezeguet, Simone, Marquez, Giuly and Sagnol.

There are also a number of United supporters outside the stadium who have genuine tickets that they aren't letting in.

What exactly happened? We knew they were going to be physical? Can someone summarize the first half with a couple of sentences?

What is that supposed to mean?

ManU plays in the Premiership, supposedly the most physical league in Europe. Lille's use of strength is nothing new.

If ManU can't beat Lille, that means they don't deserve to progress into the QFs, simple as that.

How did Ronaldo not score there! Great save by the Lille keeper, but he should have finished that!

We're starting to break them down. Ronaldo with a good chance and Rooney screwed up his follow up chance.

What is the foul for there? He holds his head after not getting any contact.

Lille is upping the tempo, surprisingly. I thought that they would start faltering, but I guess not.
