Does it really matter where Paco goes. We know he won't be back with us.

We're in for a tough year if something isn't done to fill the huge holes left by departing players.

JP goes crawling back to Mexico to play for tigres, who has a nice little Chicago Cubs style run going the past few years. No matter how much they spend, they find a way to suck, and are closing in on 25 years without a championship, and are in for some relegation problems if things don't pick up. Good luck Garcia, you'll need it

Should've expected Palencia to leave at the first opportunity, but it's still disappointing nonetheless.

Cue's got some work to do.

A lot of money on the budget is "free", so if Cue doesnt want to get "first season" results, he better spend some of that money wisely, with all due respect to our central american brothers, I dont want to see the team full of guates.

I want Razov and the kids, good mexican players, some brazilians or argies and Luis Figo...:D

Regan was too slow, and Paco was a great leader but didn't deliver the goods on the field. Excellent at setting up others, but incapable of putting it in the net himself anymore. (Shades of El Pando)

It's time for Chivas USA to move on, and I think you will do fine.

Plus, you're going to have more cap room.

    :)

Isn't Manuel Sol head to Chivas USA? I think he would be a great addition.

During the Atlas-Tecos game today (1/27) The Televisa commentators mentioned that Chivas is close to adquire Aaron Galindo, the controversial Mexican forward that was banned for using prohibited substances in 2005 and literaly running away from Cruz Azul to Spain's Second Division' Herculez shortly after his suspension was lifted in 2006. However, his redemption in Spain was not to be as he was erased from the Herculez line-up early on and well...seems as his options in Spain are slim now, so he's looking to come back to the Americas.
According to Perro Bermudez, Chivas will send him first to Chivas USA to test him and if he's deemed ok, then he will be eventually be brought to Chivas.
Galindo was a very promising defender right before the doping, now well we'll see if he still has it, specially after such a resounded failure in THE SECOND DIVISION of Spain. If he works himself old to his old form he will be a great addition, but if not, well it will be just another footnote on "Mexican Players that failed to crack it in the MLS."

"Chivas USA, bring me you old, discarded and semi-retired..." ;)

I might catch some crap for this, but I think the Segunda in Spain is a little step up from the MLS. Not much, but a little better.

I caught a lot of games while I was over there and it was probably a good experience for Galindo but he just didn't latch on.

Remember, he's a former NT player who made an extremely bad decision and needs to put his career back on track. Hopefully he can use this experience to buckle down, get his head straight and play himself back into the NT pool.

This is what I found today on Mediotiempo.com so he might or he might not come...really classy soccer talk.

Actually I agree with you. Many say that the MLS is at the level as the Football League One of England. Many divisions throughout Europe I feel are better than the MLS.

Soccernet.com has written a few articles on how there are MANY MANY MANY American college players snubbing the MLS for European leagues and the chance to make roster spots.

Galindo does need to get back on track. Going to Chivas would be a good move. But I don't see where he will fit in there. Especially with the talent they are bring up from the Reserve roster.

Galindo going to Chivas USA would be a good move because he is practically guaranteed a starting position since our backline is full of holes right now.

Galindo is a good player but he seems to have lost his edge, he hasnt been the same since the doping scandal. The fact that he was not able to break into Herculez starting line up also worry's me a bit, since Galindo was pretty much secured a WC spot with the MNT!!

If he does come to Chivas USA I hope Claudio can smack some sense into his head. Aaron is a good talent and he can definately boost our defence squad but first he must be mentally prepared to take on the MLS.

Miguel Zepeda training with Chivas USA?
    mmhhh...

so, ok, I do want to see more Mexican players on Chivas USA, but I guess I ask for too much when I ask for GOOD Mexican players (they are all under contract) Miguel Zepeda pretty much slipped under my radar in the last transfer period, he was released without fanfare by San Luis after arriving there as an America reject.Zepeda is one of those promising Atlas players that never quite developed. Zepeda is one of Lavolpe's favorites but after atlas he's played without much sucess in SIX different teams.

Well, I doubt he'll stay but if he does...he better become the promise he was it is really his last chance.

It looks like Aaron Galindo has received some offers in Mexico. He might have been the last chance we had for a significant reinforcemnt in this year's transfer window. Check mediotiempo.com for more details.

Changing the topic a little bit...
Now that training has begun, does anybody know how the rest of the guys looked in camp? Did the rest of the regulars (who have had a quiet off-season) report to camp healthy? Razov, Jesse, Panchito, Claudio, and Guzan?

I am trying to get out to Carson to catch a training session.

It is a different one. It's Maykel Galindo from Cuba.

    Another former Seattle Sounders player.
