The thing is, the renderings are created for a purpose, usually to attract investors or gain permission/support. Right now, we've got all that sorted out (for the most part, it seems), so really the next set of "drawings" to expect will be the stadium blueprints. These may include a few new renderings as well since they typically require approval. But, after that, you probably won't see anyone putting the time, money, and effort into creating any more drawings. They wouldn't be needed, and everyone will be busy building (hopefully.) So, my prediction is that we may see a new set of renderings if they publish the blueprints, but it is highly probable that we won't get any. My opinion is based on my construction management career, which ended in 1994 (when my IT career started up.)
thanks flyin ryan - sounds like the S&L scam of the 80s-90s with the price of it all falling back on the middle class. but as for red bull park, and most commercial property, this is still a win-win situation. a down-but-not-out part of new jersey gets developed, a team gets a home, and fans get their own stadium. let's just hope the pyramid doesn't tumble before we see our first game!
good info, well reasoned, you've clearly done your research. As a homeowner I sincerely hope you're overstating the case. My perspective from living in this area and paying fairly close attention to the real estate market reflects the going rate right now. You may well be right that the market has further to fall in the next 2 years or so. Again, as a homeowner I hope not. But my read on the situation is that we're closer to the bottom than you do. Again, I definitely respect your research and effort. My commentary is based on the local market 'vibe', which I expect is very hart to tune into from NC. People around here are still getting their asking prices or close to if they are willing to wait for it. Houses are spending a lot more time on the market. This, of couse, is a major problem for developers as they lose money every minute a finished property spends on the market, so they drop prices. The other difference is that the NYC area is a much less affected by speculation than other markets as we are a primary residence market as opposed to having a middling or high proportion of 2nd-home-owners.[/end real estate threadjack]
Nice rendering, from the looks of it, this stadium will be more detailed than all other SSS in the league...now that's world class! You think they may bump seating capacity to 30,000, if L.A. can have 27,000 why can't we have 3,000 more seats? My question about the design, is the concert stage area at the south end designed with removable bleachers in mind? Also will the second level row of seats go across the top of concert stage area kind of like a roof? Does anyone know how that will be designed? Thanks good job!
Does anyone have pictures of Red Bull Salzburg stadium? I heard that they have a new stadium and I wondered if it has some of the same design features as do Red Bull Park...
http://www.worldstadiums.com/stadium_pictures/europe/austria/salzburg_stadion.shtml Capacity is 18k+ and was built in 2003.
<lurker> Just a quick thing for those who didn't know, the Salzburg stadium's capacity is being increased for Euro 2008, with the capacity being increased up to around 30,000. Note: Below picture is not Red Bull Park. Of course, this is pre-takeover, but it will be the same design with blue seats. It does kinda look like RB Park, though. Harrison looks like it has a better and more streamlined suite configuration, looking less like an eyesore. But that raises the question, where will the press box be? </lurker>
If you look at the diagram posted by Red Bull Metro post #129, I think the press boxes are above the players tunnel at section 131 and if you look to the south end, there are a few open suites. What I really want to know is how will they design the south end concert stage area? Will it be a open configuration like most MLS SSS designed stadiums or will they have a 2nd row of seats above the stage area similar to Crew stadium with removable seating on first level for a concert stage??? Does anyone know? Red Bull Metro,do you have the diagram for the 2nd level also?
You just ask the right people(sales) in AEG...it's no big deal. They're trying to sell "club" and "pub" seats, suites, and season tickets. From what I understand, the concert stage end will be regular seats until a concert, when the stage will be erected.
not the first option probably second option or even a roll out stage will do no need to loose the revenue of 3k seats for a few concerts
It's about normal compared to SSS in the league, most stadium designs double stack the suites on one side of stadiums such as in Chicago, Los Angeles, Colorado, Dallas and the new RSL design. They have some where between 32 to 42 suites stacked on one side of the stadiums. In Columbus, the suites are between the first rows and second rows on one side of that stadium in a single row with less suites and the same goes for BMO field in Toronto. Red Bulls design is unique in the sense that the 51 or so suites extend all the way around the stadium in a single row 12 rows up from the playing field. Red Bull Park is more European in design details than any of the SSS currently being used today in MLS. I think it is the best design SSS to date in MLS, the only stadium design that will beat it out is a dome designed stadium called the Summit, county officals are near to an agreement and they want to build in a Cleveland suberbs for an expansion team that is being backed by a strong local investor...If someone can find the link, please post it.
First of all, the completed drawings have been "done" for months. I saw them prior to Thanksgiving. That doesn't mean they'll release them officially until about September or so of 2007, but they have all been finished. There exists a book of about 200+ drawings that covers every possible angle of the stadium, inside & outside. Of the stage end, you can't tell there's a stage there. It looks nothing like Pizza Hut Park, Fire Stadium or even Home Depot in terms of the one end being a "stage end".
