It was a legit penalty. He poked the ball away and started after it and Riise tripped him up.

    What an outstanding result!

The win puts us 9th on 36 points...

    9th, 11th, 12th, and 13th all lost today...

And i know its NUFC so expect the unexpected, but check out this run of fixtures in the prem we have in front of us...

    a- wigan
    h- smoggies
    a- charlton
    h- man city
    a- shef united

    thats followed by h-arsenal, a-pompey and h-chelsea

where we end up will have a lot to do with how many of those 15 points we pick up

Well, well. Can't say I saw that coming, but I'll sure as hell take it! :D

I'm hoping for at least 11 points from the next five.

    "You won't be missing much."

Well that is true because I did get to watch it! Haha.

Taylor had a legit penalty, the ref was no more than 6 yards away and was in great position. I didn't see too many arguments from Liverpool.

I know we have some easy fixtures coming up, and 10 points sounds about right. But some slip ups will probably happen, and I'm not sure we can catch Reading who are 7 pts clear at the moment. Hopefully Man City can nip Pompey.

Out of the last 20 purchases Newcastle has made, only three have been good... Solano, Martins and Gooch.

    Baba's brother died last night.

They were wearing the armbands in support. That perhaps explains today's poor shift, so I'll cut him some slack this time around.

    Did Duff play?

And why was Bumble in there ... again.

Great result, though. I didn't think 3 points from the Scousers was doable.

In fact, the Toon lost the corresponding home fixture last season.

Duff came on as a late sub for Milner, 86th min or so IIRC. Shambles, no clue. Roeder's loyal to a fault, I s'pose.

The black armbands were worn in respect of an old board member who recently died.

That's not what the link I posted states, but that's certainly another reason to do so.

Bramble wasn't completely awful yesterday. Wasn't great, but he made a few decent plays.

Maybe Duff wasn't fit to go for 90 because if he were I would assume he play Duff on the left, Milner on the right and Nobby at RB, thus pushing Taylor into the middle.

Or Roeder is just too keen on playing Shambles. I sure hope it was that Duff couldn't go 90!

GR was probably reluctant to use Duff (a player with noted groin/hammy problems) on a wet pitch when coming off a recent injury. At least, that'd be what I'd think his rationale was.

Yeah, well that link is wrong its just a reporter 'assuming'.

Teams dont wear armbands and fly the flags at half mast when a players family member dies, if they did they would of worn them when N'Zogbias father recently died, which they didnt..

I wish Baba and his family all the best.

Shooting the messenger is underrated (no offense Tigerdave) but in a tense hostage or siege situation shooting the messenger sure helps set the tone for future discussions.:)

Anyone else love when team's get a result they don't like they all of a sudden don't have enough depth and need more quality players? Have a look at the Liverpool forum they are about to shite themselves.
