Re: REPORT: USA vs. ECUADOR @ RAYMOND JAMES STADIUM (Tampa, FL) on Sunday, March 25th. Not good for me. 4 a.m. here in Melbourne. And that makes it 4 a.m. on a Monday morning, no less. I'm guessing no TV overseas, via ESPN Int'l.
Re: REPORT: USA vs. ECUADOR @ RAYMOND JAMES STADIUM (Tampa, FL) on Sunday, March 25th. Ticket Info: http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_281624.html Can't F**kin' Wait!!!
Re: REPORT: USA vs. ECUADOR @ RAYMOND JAMES STADIUM (Tampa, FL) on Sunday, March 25th. It keeps getting better! This quote from http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news;_y...slug=afp-fblusaecufriendly&prov=afp&type=lgns
Re: REPORT: USA vs. ECUADOR @ RAYMOND JAMES STADIUM (Tampa, FL) on Sunday, March 25th. noon kick-off fits into an available tv window... espn has the female basketball tourney, so they get prime slots
Re: REPORT: USA vs. ECUADOR @ RAYMOND JAMES STADIUM (Tampa, FL) on Sunday, March 25th. Add me to the list of people that are so effing there.
Re: REPORT: USA vs. ECUADOR @ RAYMOND JAMES STADIUM (Tampa, FL) on Sunday, March 25th. I'm working on getting out there. Flights from LAX to tampa are about $230 , so not too bad. Seeing how this game is on the east coast , and nearing the start of Gold Cup and Copa America , I'm thinking we will see a pretty strong Nats line up, and Ecuador line up.
Re: REPORT: USA vs. ECUADOR @ RAYMOND JAMES STADIUM (Tampa, FL) on Sunday, March 25th. Does anyone know if we will have friendlies in April or May? Because there seems to be a 2 month gap before the Gold Cup starts. Unless this is normal
Re: REPORT: USA vs. ECUADOR @ RAYMOND JAMES STADIUM (Tampa, FL) on Sunday, March 25th. Ireland is scheduled to face Ecuador in NYC in May, so it is a running thought that the USMNT will also play Ireland in or near NYC in May. April, not so much scheduled.
Re: REPORT: USA vs. ECUADOR @ RAYMOND JAMES STADIUM (Tampa, FL) on Sunday, March 25th. If we do end up playing against Ireland, it's very possible it may be played at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro since there's a huge Irish population there, as well as in NYC.
WAAAHHH WAAAAAHHH WAAAAAHHHH. If you guys can't get up at 9 or 10 am to watch a game on television, don't blame the USSF. I'm there!
ussoccer.com has this game listed as being televised on ESPN and not ESPN2. Any reason for the change?
Maybe because it will actually be a good game and we will have all of our first team guys in for it? Actually, I have no idea. Maybe a bass fishing tournament is hogging the noon hour on the Deuce.
The World Cup Qualifier in Columbus against Mexico had everything you mentioned and it got bounced to ESPN Classic. Am I right to be concerned about empty seats in a 65,000 seat stadium or will there be enough people at this game to make it look good on TV?
I'm not sure how the split works, but RayJ is, like most modern stadiums, split into a lower and upper area. I presume they would only sell lower bowl, maybe keeping one end or side closed at first, opening other sections as they sell enough tickets. I mentioned elsewhere it would be great to have the Sammers in the pirate ship endzone. I wouldn't be surprised if they fire the cannon after US goals. HDC was obviously not full the other day but came across okay on TV. They tend to focus on the wilder fans and not empty seats.
Sam's Army is going to be in Section 145 (corner near the ship). Firing the cannon would be great. Does the USSF put Sam's Army off-center so that they get in more camera shots?
SA was in Sec. 102 at HDC, behind the goal, but one section off to the side. The entire GA area was empty, as was the upper tier (which exists as regular seating only on one side. The camera angles on TV made it look less empty than it looked while sitting there, but from Sec. 103, you're staring at the vacant GA section the entire match. I know nothing about RJ, but my parents, who live in The Villages, attended their first US Soccer match last week since they happened to be out here, and I took them to HDC. They said they were hooked and actually will attend the Ecuador match. Hopefully they'll bring some of their fellow retirees with them. As for the timing, 9:00 a.m. PT on Sunday might not be ideal, but its better than 4:30 on a Saturday morning for an EPL match, right?
I was at the Boise State - Georgia game. It was a good game. Can't blame one game - blame it on the fact that the US-Mexico game was the same week as the opening of the College Football season.
Its not whether the BSU/G game was a good one, its that a WCQ against our main rival, where qualification was possible on that very day (and in fact occurred), and where such a match comes around once every four years, was more important than a single regular-season amateur football game, no matter who is playing.
Are you actually in Ecuador? Assuming you're an Ecuador fan, I'd suggest first try your FA. If you are an expat US fan message me and I'll forward you local info. You can also try ticketmaster.com for general admission. Also, if you need any help on finding accomodation or any other travel related info please let me know and I'll help as best as I can.
i suspect you can walk you to the ticket counter 30 minutes ebfore kick-off and get very good seats... i'd be surprised if more than 20K showed up
I'm a newbie soccer fan and might be going to this game, I'm 30-1 hour away. Can't wait! First game, what are the Sam's Army's rules? Just wear Red, and do I need to file for seats or something to cheer with them? Thanks!
