    not me, have to work.
but to be honest, I wouldn't go anyway. those two teams don't interest me enought to get me to crack open the wallet or make the trip into Oakland.

Both teams will be playing in Copa America so I will consider it a scouting session. But more than that, this is a chance to show the Quakes front office what great fans we will be. Who knows? It may inspire Wolff to fight that much harder for what we want in a new stadium. The only way I would miss it if I am traveling that week.

I'm considering the tix offer....But what about the S.I.com claim that the SJSU stadium deal may be completed in a few weeks? What an awesome Valentine to us!

I sent in my ticket order right away. How can you NOT go--aren't we trying to show support for the sport?

Nice to see some soccer action in Sunnyvale. I lived there when I was working in San Jose. More Earthquakes games to come! :)

Damn!!! I got to work. But those of us that can go have to go. Have to support SSV, the Quakes office and Lew. I am not a fan of those teams, but we have to show the Blue.

Kickoff is at 8 pm, by the way (it says on the stadium map).

    I'll be there.

BTW, what's up with the field configuration? First base line to left field with none of the roll-in seats? There's going to be more out-of-play grass at this game than in a DEA evidence warehouse.

I support the Quakes. If they're playing, I'll go. I support the US national team. If they're playing, I'll go.

It's because it's 4 days before baseball's opening day. Can't have the movable seats killing the A's outfield.

Ringo I hear you and know what you mean. But Earthquakes LLC (read Oakland A's) are putting this on as their very first soccer event and are looking to see how strong the soccer support is. We Quakes fans will have a great chance to show the soccer world that Quakes blue still lives. Quakes fans will be on TV for much of the game. This important on many, many levels. Not only does it show the A's that we want the Quakes back, but it gets the business community thinking about it, getting former Quakes thinking about coming back to play for us...

All of these things. But I understand what you are saying.

You think Brian Holmes would send us replica Quakes jerseys overseas? If we placed an order and backed it up with the cash, of course...

    Just wondering.

bt: Either give him a call --- (408) 727-4477 (I have no idea of how expensive it is to call from Oz), or email to cacustom@aol.com/ I'm sure he will send it, but best to check.

But didn't Jamie Trecker already emphatically state that the Quakes aren't returning anytime soon? :(

a good post and I also see your point.

but how important is it really? Will SJSU pull out because of it? Will Lew? Will anybody in either camp make any assumptions based on this game? I ask because Quakes fans and fans of Mexican soccer seem to be two different groups (certainly there's some overlap).
Besides our friends at SSV putting it on, I just don't see what one has to do with the other.
I hope everybody here has fun, though. and please tell me you're rooting for Ecuador. ;)
    :)
