Watch every Arsenal match for free with this guide!

Well, I have wasted a ton of money purchasing Pay-Per-View matches as well as paying hundreds of dollars on Packages for a season. No More! We want to introduce fellow Arsenal fans to 2 other very simple options to watch Arsenal matches free of cost w/ no hassle. Here is a step-by-step guide. Let's start!

There are two options, one is a live stream. The other, a delayed recording of the match via a torrent, meaning, you can watch it/download it after the match is finished as someone recorded it from a tv broadcast later available (within 1 hr from the end of the first half to 12+ hours later, dependant on whomever puts it up).

We'll start with the live streams.

These are two perfectly reliable players that have had every Arsenal match live, from the Champions League to the Carling Cup and, no less, in English commentary. They are:

    TvAnts:
    download here

    Sopcast:
    download here

    To begin.

    TvAnts Setup:
Click: Save (preferably to the desktop so you can find the file easily and quickly -> Open (after it finishes downloading) -> choose Next -> Next -> Next -> it starts to install then click -> Finish.

In your start menu open up TvAnts. It starts up, give it a moment. You will see a menu screen and separately another window w/ the visual stream. On the menu screen there are general tabs and such, you don't have to worry about any. Click either one of the tabs titled: Search. Channels. You now have a ton of international channels/feeds available.

    Sopcast Setup:
Click: Save (preferably to the desktop so you can find the file easily and quickly -> after it finishes downloading, Unzip the file -> after it finishes unzipping Open ->choose Next -> Install -> it starts to install -> Finish

In your start menu open up Sopcast -> choose Login anonymously -> there are three tabs: Home, Channels, MyServer, choose Channels -> the top list of sport channels should have multiple options of Arsenal just before kickoff.

    After a player is running:
On either player, when you know the channel double-click it and it will start up. For an Arsenal match, there will be a few available all from different feeds, but an English feed there will be perhaps one. On the day of or nearing, we can find out which channel will have it and post it. Usually, we get the list from here: http://myp2p.eu/ Click one of the options under Football on the left hand menu to see for yourself.

NOTE: You can try this now and I would highly suggest to do so. Instead of starting this up 10 mins before kickoff and getting into a panic! You can view any channel, as a matter of fact, on January 25, 2007 at 7:41pm (CT) I click on one of the channels and I am getting, not live, of course, the Newcastle v West Ham match. Try it out for yourselves!

Now, let's get onto the business of Torrents.

Torrents, honestly, they don't mean to confuse you. The file that downloads is in fact a regular video file that plays in Windows Media Player or even better: VLC Media Player which plays everything.
All a torrent really is is a ticket to start the download. A torrent is usually available, as stated, from the end of a first half to the next day, dependant on the provider of the match. The download speeds are also dependent on the provider as well as how many people are involved and their speeds.. as well as yours. You can have the full match from 1hr to significantly longer depending on all of the different criterias.

You start with getting a Bittorent client, a popular one is: Bitcomet which you can download directly here.
    Install this.
Now, you go find a torrent, which is available in different places: I suggest to google "soccer torrents". Once you find what match you want (there are lots available) you download the torrent then it will open into your torrent client and the download will start. You will see the status of it. After that finishes downloading you have near dvd quality tv broadcast of a match which is perfect on full screen as opposed to live streams.

    To conclude:

    LIVESTREAMS:
    pros: live. easy.
cons: for best quality, it will certainly not be at full screen.

    TORRENTS:
pros: dvd-like quality. can watch at full-screen perfectly.
cons: time. will have to wait for it to be available. will have to wait for it to download as well.

    Hope this has been helpful!

I tried to be as simple as possible w/ the explanations and did a literal step by step for each which is why it seems long to me, but I couldn't get away with it w/o it being informational enough to understand it as well.

thanks to Sopcast, PPlive, PPmate, etc. etc.. i have been able to watch every single Arsenal game not on FSC this season. although, the Everton game took a whole half to load  . I have seen every single minute of Arsenal's season thanks to these programs (when not in school). It's easy to use and doesn't cost any money. Thank you Rima for showing all Gooners on this board how easy it is to watch games.

    something else... use these websites:

www.myp2p.eu <---------The best for locating streams, and it opens the programs up for you

http://www.asiaplatetv.com/aptv_today.htm <---------- The 2nd best site, does the same as myp2p.eu, and sometimes has different channels from myp2p

http://livefooty.doctor-serv.com/ <-------This one is also good as it operates as a webplayer... you must open this in Internet Explorer tho...

Lastly, you need more programs than just TVants and Sopcast, or PPmate, altho those are the best... TVUplayer, PPStream, and PCast are of equal importance, imo... TVUplayer is the 2nd best because it does not buffer after it gets a channel (TVAnts gives better quality but it can buffer)... PPStream is great also but the picture quality is bad... and PCast works because it gives good quality but takes the longest to load up...

The channels I recommend you connect to if available(in order of preference) are:

    ESPN Hong Kong/ESPNHK
    Supersport 3
    Starsports/ESPN Asia

These channels usually provide the best quality pictur and sound, and are all in English. If for some reason neither of those channels are covering the game, I'll usually mention in the match thread which channel is providing the best feed.

You should also mention that with tvants you'll want to add extra servers since the one that comes with it is sometimes down.

    Add these for more options:
    fanshoptv.no-ip.info
    tracker2.tvants.com
    tracker3.tvants.com

there are a bunch of others but those should work well for most needs.

Just a heads up for everybody who hasnt seen it:

    http://goonergoals.blogspot.com/

That site is a great source; they give you streaming links before kickoff, upload torrent links of the match afterwards, and as you can see have videos of all Arsenal goals scored.

I'm not into torrents and all that but I do know that www.opensourcemac.org has some good torrent downloaders for Mac.
The site has some other really useful apps. The best part is that they're all free. Senuti is a fav of mine.
    Long live the Mac!

p.s. Why is spending money to watch ARSENAL on tv a waste of money. Isn't it just as essential to life as food?

A good deal of the folks on here are students or others on a limited income (teachers!), so watching it for free is better than shelling out $20 or more.

Supposedly the forum at www.********.com is the best for torrents, but how do I register? Do I have to ask or be invited?

Thanks for the kind recommendation of my site :)

I created it so that other people don't have to worry about registering at all the various forums/torrent/download sites.

You just have to visit my site before the game to grab all the various streams from around the net, and then revisit after the game to see the goals and download the entire match :)

I hope you pop on over and say hi.

Note: We also have regular Polls, and a unique Arsenal Only Google search engine.

    Streams for tomorrow's game

Supersport 3 will be carrying the game - so please try and connect to it 15 minutes early to be safe. If you want to tune in earlier, they will be carrying the Chelsea v. Nottingham game too(tune in to watch fat frank and the 30 million pound striker scrape out a win against a lower league team)

ok so I downloaded the torrent of the 2nd half vs. bolton.

    two questions,

1 - do i have to wait until it is fully downloaded before I can watch the download?

2 - when I went to the site to download the torrent the site showed the result (even though i squeezed my eyes really tight I still knew the score) is there a site that hides this info?

    thank you

    1. Not necessarily, sometimes it will work if you copy the downloading file to your desktop and leave just '.avi' on the name or whatever format it is in.

    2. ********.com is well moderated for stuff like that, but they don't accept new members all the time, you just have to catch them, or send and email to the guys who run it.
