Any opinions on Samba, the new Blackburn defender (from Hertha Berlin)? Just physically, the guy looks like an absolute monster.

Klose would play the #9 role. He's a smart center forward, much like Larsson, he'd improve those around him by encouraging creative play. Rooney or Rossi would be the preferred striker partners.

Lyon is going public in order to raise money to compete with the top sides in Europe. Be careful what you wish for.

Actually French teams are pretty much required to operate debt-free, or face relegation. It's unlikely they would end up in our situation, especially with Ligue 1 being far less attractive to someone looking at the club as an investment. For now, British clubs will continue to be more involved as potential takeover targets for foreign investors.

Speaking of which, the latest to throw his hat into the "Anfield Super Sweepstakes" ring is Montreal Canadiens owner George Gillett.

I guess he's interested in collecting once legendary sports teams that are unlikely to ever reach a fraction of their former greatness. Maybe he'll try to buy the Oakland Raiders next.

I thought you were required to be dead to own that team. Or to coach it.

Don't you dare defame The Gooch. He will rip your heart out and eat it raw, then chow on your bones for dessert.

Then he'll make tea and have a cordial chat about politics with your dead, mutilated carcass.

As much as I love seeing him play, if he really is turning all these moves down then I am losing a lot of the respect I had for him. Real Madrid I can see, they are a shit show. But moves to Boro and Fulham especially would have given him mid table teams in a big league where he would have gotten a lot of playing time. What the hell is he waiting for?

Well yes, but if the Madrid move was true, he would have been paid. He's confusing me. Maybe that's exactly what he wants, to confuse us all, before a Vidic-Oneywu tag team destroy the planet and take a select few of the hottest of hot women to restart the human race on Mars.

Then I guess Chelsea is the move he's been waiting for.

He's still got a way to develop. Either going to the French league or a middle-level Prem team will help him build his skills before he moves to a higher level team. I thought Newcastle was in for him, but I guess not.

Matty Derbyshire has 2 goals and an assist so far in Blackburn's FA Cup tie. I really like this kid...

A Roy Carroll special lets Watford get the winner against Watford.

Fantastic finish from Gamst too for Blackburn at Luton.

*yawn* This Real Madrid - Villareal game would be much more exciting if Riquelme would play.

But my God, La Liga is dull this season, it's been the worst footballing experience I've watched in years.
