I do belive the name was Van Der something but again it was not a name I was familiar with. They are going to try to reach out to the Mexican and Salvadorian community in the City from what I understand. I heard they hired a PR firm that has experience with the latino market in the Bay Area.

You know the name of the firm? Please list it if you know it! It would be interesting to find out who they are.
I hear Ukranian born Dimitry Pitterman made his money in the Silicon Valley so yes you would think he would at least have a web site! Also, they will be playing at Kezar Stadium in SF. Its the only game in town along with the Frogs at least until the Quakes come back. It may be a lot of fun to watch. Could you imagine if he takes any pointers from his former Soviet compatriot Ambromovich from Chelski? Who needs Lew Wolffe if that were the case?

The firm is BRC and they definitely specialize in the Hispanic/Latino market.

Falvo, you're forgetting about the only USL organization in the area who actually strives to maintain a year-round presence in the soccer community and who has the longest history in the area, the SF Seals.

And Piterman will certainly be entertaining. He is even more of a maverick and more eccentric than some American sports owners such as Mark Cuban and Al Davis.

it's probably Glen Van Straatum who is a really good friend of Dimitri Piterman and is also the Assistant Director of Coaching at Bay Oaks Soccer Club.
The firm is BRC, which is Brad Rothenberg's company. Brad is the son of Alan Rothenberg. The company is the one running 4v4 MLS futbolito.

I never watched the Seals play. I remember Jorge Slazar played for them but he told me they owed him for some matches and never paid up. Then they went on a hiatus or folded. Then I went to Europe and came back 5 years later. Aren't they in the same group at the Frogs? Aren't they a 4th division club? I guess the USL is the 1st division or (USA's 2nd tier level of soccer). I'd love to watch these games if I can find time to get up there.

Not sure if this isn't really news, I'm not usually in the USL forum. But, you sir are correct. I met Glen at the MLS combine yesterday - nice enough guy.

    Here's their website

    Enjoy!

I would go watch that since theres nothing else here in SF especially if Hugo Perez is involved. Hopefully they will bring real futbol with exciting players. Something that I would go pay to see.

We really should organize a Quakes section at Victory games. I know it's not the perfect solution but it should be decent soccer to tide us over until the return of the Quakes.

As long as we cheer for the Sounders when they come to town. Come on, have to support a team that also has NASL roots! They have a very speedy forward, Miykel Galindo ,that the Quakes should scoop up if they start play in 2008.

This is the least fan friendly team EVER. I sent Terry Fisher an email a few weeks ago and never got a reply...

Well in their defense the team is still just coming together. They've only existed for a few months.

    Unless your yankiboy, hehehe...

In all seriousness: Does the Victory have even a single player?

I think things are starting to smell a little fishy over by The Bay.

Fresno Fuego are PDL. Some preseason dates are noted on their website, among them a home match v Victory 4/12. Other matches listed there include RSL, ChivasUSA, and Galaxy and these range from late Feb into March and April.

By the time Victory fans embark on a Fresno road trip they probably will already have home matches under their belt...one would think.

I thought Ryan Suarez signed with the team but doing a search for an announcement I don't come up with anything.
