Yes...upon further reflection, the backheel was probably the play of the game. It's not often that you see such skill and bravery leading directly to a goal in the EPL!
you mean the one to Montella that was cleared poorly, falling to McBride for the shot that led to the PK?
I was curious as to what he was talking about to. He is right that Dempsey wouldn't have even attempted that pass though.
probably not. doubt brown would have had they not been down a man late in the game: it was just a whack upfield-- clear the area, cross your fingers.
Think that some Yanks have been voting on the match ratings on Sky Sports' website? Hee. http://home.skysports.com/matchratings.aspx?fxid=298401&cpid=8&clid=54&v=yes
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBwjeW3sFXw Clint, whatever you do- don't this to Coleman! (The clip is only 49 seconds long, and a real hoot. Wait until you hear Redknapp's last comment! )
"no wonder he's in the ******* reserves." haha Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the rock.
Harry's face is priceless. You could read on his face that all he was thinking about was the idiot who hit him. I wonder who it was. This is why he's one of my favorites!
Robinson had the Save of the Day off McBride's shot: http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=442962&CPID=8&clid=&lid=1490&title=Best+of+the+Weekend
5 is pretty standard for a guy who only plays the last 10 minutes of a match, as someone said earlier. Next best thing to a 'no rating' in this case.
Colemans response to the Spurs match http://www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsArticles/2007/January/SpursReaction.aspx Near the end of the video, the interviewer remarks that Clint did all right Coleman's response: He's not even close to being match fit but thought he could make a difference. An appropriatly muted reaction....
Yeah he's right. Over the past week the Fulham boards were invaded by teenage Dempsey worshipers. Literally every other thread was about Demsey and all the topics were the same subjects over and over and over.
I might be wrong, but was it Dempsey who hoofed the ball upfield with the outside of his right foot (instead of using his left as he should have), giving it straight to a Spurs player who put the ball in the area, from which Chimbonda scored?
Dempsey didn't have anything to do with the play - Brown had a hand ball (and received a yellow) around 40 yards out. They played the ball into the area from the resulting free kick and it fell to Chimbonda. The play leading up to the handball was an overplayed ball by Brown that the Spurs keeper collected - they then played it back up the field and got the handball. I actually downloaded the second half of the game and just watched it. I have to say that Clint's two tackles, while clean, were cringeworthy. He was definitely waaaay more pumped up/nervous than I ever remember seeing him. He really dove in hard on the second one - the announcer was sort of laughing at the enthusiasm in the tackle. All together he did fine, and he settled in after a few minutes - looking forward to seeing how he does this season.
