So how does Killion figure that the $250 million (which isn't actually being paid by any one organization, nor does it actully represent Beckham's salary) can just be reallocated to the hiring of Jurgen Klinnsman?? Or Youth Development Initiatives? Come on, Ann....you are better than this kind of intellectual dishonesty. If you don't know better than you should have done your research, and if you do know better, which I suspect, you are simply being dishonest to make a point. For shame.
Sir Bobby Robson, England's World Cup coach at the Mexico '86 and Italy '90 tournaments, wrote in a column in the Sunday Mail newspaper that Beckham, 31, was going into "semiretirement" by joining MLS. http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-soccer15jan15,0,938111.story?coll=la-home-sports Let's be honest, Beckham is not giong into semiretirement. I believe Lothar was, but not Becks. I really do think Beckham is going to work really hard to lift MLS on and off the field.
Ann is still upset they moved the Quakes. She no longer supports MLS. It's unfortunate because she was the only one here who publicly did. But that was one of the (many) downsides to the move. Hopefully she gets back on board when the team starts playing again...
