The guy's 30, and coming off a serious knee injury.

Spector just turn 21. Who has time on his side in that equation?

Also, Konchesky and Curbs don't exactly love each other, and Konchesky has already been rumored to be included to be gone (in one swap). Spector might wind up flipping to left back (where he established himself w/Curbs last year) if Konch goes.

In the past, Spector has to beat out Chris Powell at Charlton, and at West Ham, Pansil, Mears, Dailly. Lauren would just be another challenge. Maybe a tough one, but John seems up for these things- he's a tough cookie.

    We'll see.

It will be interesting, but if Lauren is back at 80% of what he used to be, I'd rather have him than Spector.

*edit* maybe this means Spector can play at CB too who knows

Agreed I don't think this is bad for Spector. If Laurent is healthy and back to his level he can help West Ham. It is better for Spector long term if West Ham stay up.

Both Spector and Laurent can play anywhere in the back 4 so it is not necessarily one or the other.

If all the transfer speculation was true we'd have signed about 738 players by now.

No, Laurent is a right back only. Spector has basically only played outside back in actual pro games. Laurent, at his best, and I have no idea if he will be anywhere in that zip code, is a better right back than Spector. So, yes, if there was any truth to this rumour, affect Spector's career.

Maybe West Ham can sign JOB so Lauren would have some company?
