Let's hope that MLS takes that next big step forward on the world's stage and this deal goes through ... it can only help the league in the long run.

Re: Fox Sports reporting Beckham to LA move imminent It has to work my friend. MLS is ready for the next calculated step. MLS is doing this the right way . . . which is not the NASL way. Open the door slowly and measurably, get the big money broadcasting packages, get some global stars (gotta start with one, right?), sell the league and it's "new" image like nobody's business behind the SUM group and both the league and owners benefit financially - which is the name of the game. I think we're ready . . . we have to step on the gas pedal some time, and that time may begin tomorrow.

Beckham told Reuters: "This week Real asked me to make a decision regarding my future and the offer to extend my contract for a further two seasons. "After considering several options to stay in Madrid or join other major British and European teams, I have decided to join LA Galaxy."
