And the interior is literally painted in FC Dallas red. The store is called The Soccer Post - and guess who owns it. Me. Yes - I quit my job of 14 years and bought a Soccer Post store. I must be crazy. The address is: 9070 Research Blvd #201 B2 Austin TX 78758 512-454-GOAL / Fax 512-454-4626 soccerpost@austin.rr.com Its at the SW corner of Burnet Road and Hwy 183 - in the same center as Chili's and Plucker's. And Bagpipes. We opened on December 19. I am trying to become an official FC Dallas store at some level - but there are 1,000,000 things to do. So that is the reason I have not been on here as much the last few months. Swing by if you are around. chris
Watch it, son...or I'll be forced to treat you the way the Gunners treated Liverpool today at Anfield. Seriously....and I say this out of a deep concern for your spiritual well-being.....be careful what you say about the Arsenal. After all, the man upstairs is always watching. Chris, may you and your new store be truly blessed.
Youse crazy.... Are you gonna be at the Round Rock Women's 7v7 Soccer Tournament? My wife's team always goes to this tourney. It would be great if you sell some of your gear at that tournament. Great turn out. BTW...how about giving a women's team a good deal on soccer uniforms? Suerte in your new biz. Whatever happens....its always good to work for yourself.
Chris, Congratulations ! I think that I speak for many who say that we admire men who follow passion. Good luck in you audacious venture. Plse. ensure that potential clientele is able to order on line. [INFERNO must explore possibilities] ... and your angle w/ FCD should deffinetely materialize in some capacity. I'm sure that Kevin will explore possiblities to broker something considering the number of trips per year over the course of the years to Burn/FCD events. Not to mention mutilating your shoulder for FCD glory.
Wow, my husband just mentioned yesterday that he saw a new soccer store out there while he was driving around on an errand. And apparently it's your store! How cool is that. We'll definitely be frequenting it (FC Dallas red notwithstanding - don't let the Soccer USA folks get all the business (I find them to be a little snobbish anyway). Good luck!
No website yet. But its something I hope to have up in a couple of months. The store is a franchise and they have an internet site - but I am not allowed to sell product over the internet. No Arsenal stuff yet - I have asked for some. No QPR stuff either -- that may be a tall order. Thanks for the heads up on the RR tournament - I will contact them this week. I have a framed Jason Kreis Burn jersey on the wall and will get a Steve Morrow QPR action photo framed and hung soon as well. The permanent store sign goes up today - and hopefully the tv's get hooked up today as well. I truly appreciate everyone's well wishes. Thank you. I'll bring everyone a Soccer Post coozie to a tailgate. I'm wearing my FCD jersey to work today.
Any product? Or just competing product? Because soccerpost.com doesn't carry any FC Dallas stuff (at least that I saw).
I've been meaning to go that way, but haven't got around to it. I tried going to the store the day it 'opened' but it wasn't open yet, which was kind of embarrassing considering the door was unlocked and there were people inside...
Embarassing for me you mean? Yes it was. The doors were unlocked. You should have come in. Sorry. We had people walk through all day and gave discounts for those that came in. We wanted to open Saturday Dec 16 - but it got delayed until the 19th due to tax ID issues and the POS system wasn't working. Nothing goes according to schedule. Sorry. Yeah - I can't sell anything over the internet even though soccerpost.com is not that impressive. And I am still trying to get FC Dallas gear in store.
I'll pass the word on to my brother in law in Georgetown. He is running the Georgetown HS Tourney, maybe you can set up there as well. PM me for details. Congrats and good luck!
Exciting developments down there in Austin, Northside! --- bump --- The Soccer Post 9070 Research Blvd #201 B2 Austin TX 78758 (512) 454-4625 = 454-GOAL (512) 454-4626 fax e-mail: soccerpost@austin.rr.com
Congratulations, hopefully everything works out. I'd be interested in knowing if you have anyone come in over the next few days/weeks and asks for a David Beckham Galaxy jersey....
