Gooch would be a serious steal for them. He would be the anchor of their defense and if he excels, he'll get them a huge transfer fee from one of the bigger clubs.

According to another thread, Gooch is meeting with AC Milan over a transfer.

"soccernet seems to be reporting that the Gooch deal has fallen through and that he has returned to training in Portugal with SL."

from the Fulham forum. hope it's not true. I'd love to have a guy in the back line who could probably take out somebody as big as Jan Koller.

This is what we call a "fluid situation" people, as nothing is cut and dry yet.

Watching FSW tonight and there are saying Gooch has left England to rejoin his Belgium team. Something about this Belgium team didn't like Fulhum's offer.

Im think they said they offered SL around 2mill US for Gooch. ALso said that Coleman was still interested. Safe bet they make another offer.
I think I read today that Olympic Marsailles is interested too

I heard reports that Dempsey could be available and make an appearence for Fulham on thier Jan. 13th match against West Ham. As I am pretty new to this whole EPL thing, how likely am I to find this game on tv? Chicago has a good amount of soccer friendly bars, especially Ginger's Ale house which won Best Soccer Bar of 2006.

So what are my chances of finding this game on tv. I'm Looking at the EPL site and its not listed in the global tv listings page

Fox Soccer Channel is usually the best bet, but it looks like they r only showing... Chelsea-Wigan and Blackburn-Arsenal live with Bolton-Man City delayed

Not sure about tv listings, but you can usually find most EPL games streaming online. I'd recommend this site:

    http://www.myp2p.eu/index.htm

You'll need to download specific programs that can be found on that site to watch the games, and I'd recommend downloading several of them since you never know which ones will be available or work best for each game. You can find them on the left hand side under the heading "P2P Info."

Nice to hear from you too, sweetie.
Did you or Mister Peanut ever find gainful employment?

Welcome back. Didn't always agree with you (well ... rarely actually) but over the past couple of years, I've been heading to your side of some of the old arguments that are still taking place about this organization.

Having been away now for nearly 15 months, it was Dempsey's proposed transfer than brought me back here.

What has happened while I've been away? Based on previous experience, let me take a few guesses:

    • They did little or no marketing, or ineffective marketing, during the close season, offered freebies to get season tickets holders to renew but also failed to build on an ever-shrinking base.
    • The Revos preseason locale was dictated by a travel company deal, rather than where they would have the best level of preparation.
    • The team got off to a slow start, had a rollercoaster season and finished strongly, inflating hopes for the playoffs.
    • They brought in an aging foreigner who didn't really pan out.
    • They received scant media attention.
    • The club shop was never spoilt for choices.
    • They had low attendance and interest, even when the team was doing well. The diehards on this board remain frustrated.
    • The team played well in the playoffs again, reached the final again, came up short again, and the owners were nowhere to be seen again.

I've seen that movie and its sequels before. The more things change the more they really stay the same.
The good news is that New England still has a franchise, and that it has not moved to Rochester, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Portland or Charlottetown.

I'll be sure to give Dempsey a cheer from the home end on April 28.

    Ta.

    What do you mean again?

This was the first final that Bob or Jon didn't attend.

BTW, your negativity and pessimistic attitude makes me wonder why I'm even a fan.

Wrong! The selections at the club shop were finally respectable.

Suprised? BigFrank doesn't even attend games. He doesn't even have the balls to show his face. He's a typical pessimistic Boston sports fan who believes the team can do no good and every move could have been better. He's the type of guy that after listening to him rant and rave in a bar you just want to kick his ass cause he's so pathetic.

Speaking of blasts from the past, I wonder what "Dapper" Doug Chapman is up to these days?

Besides his usual conclusion that the Krafts will eventualy give up and fold the team, he usually did a good job at identifying the faults of our front office.

It ain't all rainbows and puppydogs.

He's a coward, a prick, and a troll, and the sooner he leaves, the better we all are for it. There are plenty of people around here who aren't shy about posting complaints about aspects of the team, but who can do so without being completely worthless posters. I'm not kidding: Where the ******** is the ignore list, because I know I put that condescending twat on it two years ago when I finally tired of his gimmick?

(EDIT: Found it; I encourage everyone else to make use of it and get rid of this jackass for good, since the moderators aren't nearly as strong on trolls as they need to be)
