this is some amazing stuff you are posting there, man....Is this all government funded?.... Oil money can certainly go a long way..... BTW, is there any place to look at the estimated crowd capacity on each of these ongoing stadium projects?
This is a video of The Project for Pueblo Nuevo Stadium in San Cristobal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPzU6JFkabg
By the National Government and Local Government of each state! The Capacities are: - Juana la Avanzadora Stadium: 52.000 - Merida and San Cristobal Stadium: 42.500 - Cachamay Stadium: 41.600 - Jose Antonio Anzoategui and Pachencho Romero Stadiums: 40.000 - Monumental "America" Stadium - Barquisimeto: 38.000 - Caracas and Barinas Stadium: 35.000
amazing.... and these are all soccer-only stadiums?....Since Venezuela loves baseball -some might say a lot more than soccer- can baseball be played in these also? Or could you say soccer/futbol is catching up in Venezuela enough that these large stadiums won't have trouble getting filled for soccer games after Copa America? Then again, i'm sure these will also be used for concerts and what not... but it does make me wonder how big soccer can become in Venezuela... Your NT and your domestic clubs are certainly getting better and more competitive than ever before....hopefully crowsd will also come with that improvement for big games even after Copa America....
Just two of them are soccer stadium, the rest are olympic stadiums (With tracks).. Yeah.. you're right.. We love baseball a lot, but i must accept that Futbol here in Venezuela is growing up and with this cup, the poor soccer culture we have will dissappear and we will fill soccer games as we do in baseball games. (Well, that's what i hope. that's my dream. I`m a huge soccer fan and i don`t miss any game of my local team, U.A. Maracaibo) Our clubs are getting better. and you can prove that with their participations in Copa Libertadores (for example), They're not the best but they have played better than in years before and they're more competitive.. The clubs every game fill the stadiums more. Thing that never happened before.
A few questions 1. How many of those stadiums are all seaters if any? and which ones? 2. Are they building those stadiums for the futbol teams in those cities? what happens to the stadiums after Copa America?
i'll think they'll expand the league next year, btw the stadium of portuguesa looks like sh!t, dont u ever plan fixed it?? such nice fans, great history, nice club and one of the most crappy stadiums
you're right.. that stadium is ugly. I think is going to be rebuilt for the National games "Los Llanos 2007"
Uh...I hate asking this but... Are these projects on time? Some of them seem to be at just the beginning phases. Unless these are old pictures. However, these are gonna be beautiful stadiums well done to Venezuela. I don't suppose you could come up and build some stadiums for us poor Yanks supporting MLS, could ya? Just a little international diplomacy...
Almost all of them are on time, and Conmebol can vouch for that. Maturin (brand new) Barquisimeto Render (also brand new)
Based on what Conmebol has said after checking the stadiums, the stadium in Caracas was behind (already built, just has to be fixed) and the stadium in Barquisimeto, Lara (one of the two soccer specific stadiums) is behind due to a lot of rain. All the other stadiums (about 7-8) are doing good, based on Conmebol's report. There great thing about this is the number of brand new stadiums that we are going to have, about 4-5. The comment about the oil money... You are right, oil money goes a long way, now it's finally being used in Venezuela, before it was used to buy politicians houses in Miami and to fill up their bank accounts in Switzerland. Here's some other things that are being built (4 subways systems, train system, bridges, etc, etc.) 70 years later.... Venezuela gets to ride on train again this is just the 1st stage to be open to the public from Caracas to a town about 30 miles south of Caracas
Good to see projects being built....BTW, i was in no way being critical by saying oil money goes a long way..... ANd when are they naming a stadium after Juan Arango?! Kidding of course, but the dude can play.....
That's going to happen sooner than later, they were trying to find a name for one of the stadiums and one of the options was Castellin, a forward that has played just a few times in the national team. It's obvious that Arango is at least 1/4 of the team.
Oil money can go a long way, just look at what Dubai is building http://skyscrapercity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=377
let's hope that the leaders of Venezuela have the will to better their country like the leaders of Dubai have. Dubai 10 years ago had like two tall buildings like 10 floors if im not mistaken, the rest of the city was just deserts and little else, now just look at it. In 5 years it is going to be the best city in the world.
I'm trying not to talk too much about this... but keep in mind that people don't eat buildings. In other words, it's not just having huge pretty buildings, because obviously that's mainly for the rich people there.
News: OlÃ**mpico de Caracas casi listo para Copa América 2007 Para este mes se espera sembrar el nuevo césped del estadio, que tendrá una capacidad para unos 30 mil espectadores. Re: News: OlÃ**mpico de Caracas casi listo para Copa América 2007 alway figured BS Bot was a news thread starter, nothing else..... it's like it's finally come alive or something....
