So since the return of el mago is coming soon, let's gibe him a warm welcome with his own forum! He will soon join a club in europe for sure, and the press has labelled him "our most talented player". Franklin Salas. :)

niiice salas def deserves his own forum. let's just hope that when the boy returns, he sticks around this time!

you are right, he is one of our most talented players at the moment. he's cut from the same cloth as kaviedes; almost as talented but he's got a wild side to him too. he was dearly missed during the WC. i think his style of play might have given the english fits.

having said that, he's going to have to earn his way back onto the national team. with guys like borja and caicedo becoming regulars, tenorio having a career year, and la panterita coming into his own, el mago's got his work cut out for him. i guess it's better that way, too much talent up front isn't a bad thing =D

that's true. we got good guys upfront now, but Salas brings something different. as you said, it doesn't hurt to have all these talented youngsters.

YOu're right, though he did make quite a diffrence in his debut for the NT. Remeber how well he use to dance with the ball? All of a sudden, he kept getting these minor injuries and he was never the same. I hope that won't be the case when he returns. He had incredible mobility.

His injury might prove to be a major obstacle in his performance. Remember. he has been out for some time. I hope his name "El Mago" will prove to be just that and recover fully. I hate to lose a talent like Salas. :(

it's hard to compare the two because they play (well, in AA's case, played) diff. positions and had totally different roles.

El Mago is faster and flashier than Aguinaga, that's for sure. He is an all-round better athlete.

Having said that, Aguinaga played excellent soccer for years. He wasn't the flashiest of players but he always got the job done and was an important part in getting us to our first World Cup. That's not something Salas can brag about just yet.

Also, Aguinaga's killer crosses and precise passes could break a game wide open. He had an x-factor; something i don't see very often in Ecuadorian soccer.

Both are excellent talents but i think Salas still has some ways to go before we can start comparing them.

do you know what flashy is? it doesnt mean better and yes i know who aguinaga is. read it again, i said aguinaga is a better player and salas has a long way to go before you can compare the two.

flashier just means he does things that he doesnt have to do just to be a crowd pleaser

I don't know why this conversation lasted as long as it did. There is simply no comparison between the two. Aguinaga is a grounded player. Salas is a young "potential"

Salas is great but its like what was said before, wait till Salas has a chance to actually make a diffrence in the NT. Then maybe we can argue who is better.

Aguinaga did alot. He already secured his spot in Ecuadorian Futbol history.

do u mean like how aguinaga played with the ball in midfield and making the defenders look stupid? i have not seen salas do something real flashy. he has a nice shot he get past people really good but he doesnt play with the ball like aguinaga did before now what aguinaga did was flashy

And by the way chalaco Aguinaga is right up there with the S.American greats like Valderrama and co.They don't call him el maestro for nothing. At least El Pibe and Aguinaga have WC participations,,,,ahhh Solano has none!

And who mentioned Spencer (R.I.P.)??? Are you trying to cause tension here? That was uncalled for... Besides without world cup Spencer is shouldn't even be compared to solano, that's just beneath him. So please if you ever mention Spencer let it not be in comparison to that guy.
