Re: Segundo Castillo a question on the official site of teh club asked the fans a poll of who was the best new signing, and guess who one with 37% of the votes? yep, our very own Castillo!!
Re: Segundo Castillo Castillo scored once again, again header, and again a decisive goal for Red Star in 1-2 victory away against Smederevo!!
Re: Segundo Castillo good news!! glad he is doing well! it is surprisng he is scoring all his goals by headers! haha he is not known for that, he has a powerful shot! haha
Re: Segundo Castillo http://www.fc-redstar.net/newscontent.aspx?cultureID=1&ID=707&News=707 nice little article of our boy in Serbia!
Re: Segundo Castillo Wow, that is a very nice article. I'm glad to hear that he is playing well already. He's good, but I thought it would take him some time. Good for him.
Starting now or during the mid season??? I wish he had played out the remainder of his contract with Red Star. The experience as a starter in Euro competition would have been tremendous. I hope he likes the bench at Juve....
I read that Castillo is training with the Red Star Belgrade club though. http://www.futbolecuador.com/index.php?sect=18
Well, it would be great for him to stay until the winter transfer window and then move on to juve. Does anyone know who plays in Castillo's position for Juventus?? Just wondering if he'll actually be able to get playing time!
Tiago CM (not sure if he plays DM) Giannichedda DM C. Zanetti DM Blasi DM Tacchinardi DM Nocerino CM (pretty sure he plays DM also)
Oh yeah...I'm sure he'll be starting right away!!! Too bad, maybe a few more years or at least the rest of the season in Serbia would have been better. Well, whatever he does...good luck to him!!
He confirmed that. He will sign for Juventus on 25th July, but probably he will stay until August 31st in Red Star. There are some rumors that our club is trying to persuade Juventus that it would be best for everyone that Castillo stays on loan in our club until December 2007.
he definitely should stay till december...If Red Star passes to the group stages of the Champions League, then what?
I am so frustrated with this!! I agree, being a member of Juve's squad is a geat accomplishment but will he get any playing time or will he just sit back and watch? At Red Star he is 99% guaranteed to start playing the CL if they qualify!! He should stay on loan at least until the December transfer window. Hopefully Juventus will agree.
Red Star will play the first leg against either (winner between the two) ,FK Pobeda from Macedonia or FC Levadia Tallinn from Estonia on 31st of July or the 1st of August. This will already be the 2nd qualifying round (Red Star don't have to play in the first round). I am guessing Red Star should have it fairly easy against who ever they end up playing. Not many good teams are coming in during this second round but some to look for; Beşiktaş Levski Sofia Red Bull Salzburg Steaua Bucharest KRC Genk Rangers The third round will be during the second part of August. This is to see who plays in the actual Champeon's League! This is the tough part since these teams are filtered in the third round; Liverpool Arsenal Valencia Sevilla Benfica Ajax Werder Bremen Celtic Lazio Anderlecht Dynamo Kyiv Sparta Prague Fenerbahçe AEK Athens Dinamo Bucharest Spartak Moscow The following are the teams that are in through direct qualification; AC Milan (automatic qualification as title holders) Barcelona Internazionale Real Madrid Manchester United Chelsea Lyon Porto PSV Eindhoven Roma Schalke 04 Stuttgart CSKA Moscow Sporting Lisbon Marseille Olympiacos It's very wierd to not see Bayern Munich's name there but they came in fourth in the Bundesliga last season so they are looking to dominate the UEFA Cup instead!! Then I also noted that Juventus wasn't amongst the teams either...and realized that they just got promoted from Serie B, so of course they wont' be in any European competition this year anyway. This just confirms my personal opinion; Castillo is better off at Red Star for sure...at least until December.
