    Four Quarterfinal series will be played on the following two Saturdays;

    LA vs. San Jose
    Chi vs. DC
    KC vs. Colorado
    NE vs. MetrStars

Which four teams will win its series and pass on?

I went with all the top seeds except for Colorado.

Looks like no one's giving DC any love.

Good to see that the total number of votes is still divisible by 4. BigSoccer poster must be math whizzes.

On the other hand, the sum of each pair of opponents adds up to different numbers.

This morning there were 60 votes and everything added up. Now some idiot voted for only three teams and there are 63. Does he think only three teams will advance to the semis?

    The current consensus is:

    Chicago Fire 57 21.92%
    NOT DC United 8 3.08%

    San Jose Earthquakes 47 18.08%
    NOT LA Galaxy 18 6.92%

    New England Revolution 46 17.69%
NOT New York/New Jersey Metro Stars 19 7.31%

    Colorado Rapids 36 13.85%
NOT Kansas City Wizards 29 11.15%

The only surprise to me is that San Jose is so heavily favored. The rest of the ratios look quite reasonable.

I would add that it is surprising that NE is so heavily favored over NY/NJ, by more than a 2:1 margin. There could be a surprise here.

By the way, the betting odds for the first leg are :

    Market Averages
Los Angeles vs San Jose 2.37 3.07 2.62
    MetroStars vs New England 2.22 3.10 2.80
    D.C.United vs Chicago 2.48 3.03 2.51

    Highest Prices
Los Angeles vs San Jose 2.50 3.10 2.80
    MetroStars vs New England 2.30 3.20 3.00
    D.C.United vs Chicago 2.55 3.10 2.65

    I got these from here:

Looks as if a few more climbed onto the Galaxy bandwagon.

Looks like the Galaxy has been the only major surprise.
