So just as a basis for comparison, pick a starting 11 for your favorite team, add up their transfer fees from when they transfered to your club, and lets see whos starting eleven is the most expensive! Im already working on Benfica, but the information is a little hard to come by.
Real Madrid lol Just this season Robinho (Brazil) F Santos Real Madrid $30.6 million Julio Baptista (Brazil) M Sevilla to Real Madrid $25 million Carlos Diogo (Uruguay) D River Plate to Real Madrid $7.5 million Pablo Garcia (Uruguay) M Osasuna to Real Madrid $5.6 million Sergio Ramos (spain) Sevilla to Real Madrid FORGOT lol add the highest transfer fee in history ZIDANE (is it still him?), plus Beckham, Ronaldo etc kinda sad seeing as we keep losing

Before someone tries to correct that, it was just done to see what the most expensive selection of players would be for a Man Utd XI. In reality, the strongest XI is usually: Van der Sar; Neville, Ferdinand, Silvestre, Heinze; Ronaldo, Fletcher, Scholes, Giggs; Rooney, Van Nistelrooy That equates to a total of £94.14 million.
Milan (4-3-1-2) Dida (£6.1m???) Maldini (£0) Cafu (£0) Nesta (£19.1m) Serginho (£6.4m) Pirlo (£11.2m) Gattuso (£6.8m) Seedorf (Swap with Francesco Coco, £0 ) Kaka (£5.8m) Shevchenko (£17.6m) Gilardino (£16.2m) Total = £89.2m
no. Hard to say really at the back, with Gallas rotating everywhere: cech-7 million, not 9. gallas-6.2 carvalho-19.85 terry del horno-8 maka-13.9 essien-24.4 lampard-11 cole-6.6 robben-12.2 drogba-24 133.15, net worth=priceless
No and no. However the premise of this thread was to pick an XI and name the transfer fees, with the intention to get the most expensive overall. Wrong, as usual. The free was £10 million last season, £10 million this season and the rest was based on achievements. Benched, where he belongs. The experiment is over. I did include him above when I tried to work-out the most expensive XI possible.
Toon Given Free Bramble 4.5M Ramage Free Taylor Free Boumsong 8M N'Zogbia 200k Parker 6.5M Luque 9.5M Emre 5M Shearer 15M Owen 17M 65.7M total
You might be able to claim priceless if they actually won every tournament that included them, but since they only have been dominating the EPL lately, its going to be a while before you can claim priceless.
The initial fee of £22m is paid directly to Everton Football Club; the rest of the money depends on appearances and/or success at Manchester United and/or England. It is unlikely the fee will reach the maximum £27m due to the complex nature of the contract drawn up by the two clubs. A final fee in the region of £25m is more likely. Teso I find it kind of funny you claim I'm wrong usually. My initial estimation of the transfer fee was based on what I've read. And considering the final fee of £25 million is more likely than the £27 million I initally thought, I'm hardly wrong.
Really? That is pretty sad that 170 million pounds still cant buy a team that can win the champions league.
