It's hard to beleive that when these two teams met, it was Tech that was ranked and UConn was the team needing the win to help their chances of making the Big East Tournament, let alone the NCAAs. Man, this is a weird season.
I was at the match last night and Tech just did not capitalize on their chances. They outshot UConn in the 1st half 20-1; In the past few games, Tech has finished quite well. Just did not happen last night and gradually UConn got more into the game and got a late goal that turned the match. I will say this: Oliver Weiss has turned the program around. Tech is VERY young; best players are FR and Sophomores from good clubs like Richmond Strikers. This team is legit and will be able to compete in the ACC next year, mark it down.
I agree that Weiss has done a nice job with the Tech program and they should only get better once they get into the ACC, though they will also play slightly tougher conference foes, top to bottom.
