I'll aim to keep this as simple as possible.

    1. Piece of Fabric
Two stick Flags can be any size (as seen with the Wanted McBride one). So far, I've preferred to make them 4ft 9 inches once complete. The cloth seen here starts out at 4ft10 tall x 3ft8in wide.

    * Notice the creases on the edges as this is key.

    2. Make Creases
I like to get my folds in place before I start the sewing process. First, I will fold and iron creases to keep those in place (top and bottom about one inch, and the sides 2 inches).

    3. First Fold Over
Self explained in the photo. The first folds are the longer sides.

Now the fun part, well for a beginner maybe. I'm sure there's an easier way, but for now, this is how I do it.

    5. Pre-Pole Cuts
As seen in the photos cut a little off on all four corners (futher away from the edge)

    6. The Overlap

    Cut this!

Overlap pole ends with top and bottom ends

The penciled part shows how much the pole ends have overlapped the top/bottom ends

    7. Sew the Ends

Notice the overlapped top/bottom ends will be sewn over. I've done this asin attempts to keep that top and bottom end strong enough.

This photo shows the top end. Arrows show how the patterns are sewn. Obviously the top edge is sewn.

Um, please don't sew the bottom edge corners! The poles are slotted in here. This has happened to me once, rookie mistake. Please not that the bottom fold IS sewn like the top fold. When sewing, pay attention.

Finished sewing and ready to get busy!

Be creative, do your best, it doesn't have to be perfect, remember it's all about your show of support for Columbus.

This is an extremely dumb question I am sure, but when you create the image on there with a projector, how do you decide what to make black and what to leave un-colored? I've always wondered that about stencils and whatnot.

The way I've done it is if your fabric is say, yellow or white, the printed out threshold/grayscaled image will be simple once applied to the fabric from the projector. Once might think black fabric might not show a projected image but actually it will because keep in mind, the projector beams bright white light. When I'm painted I not only have the printed transparency paper copy but also the copy paper copy of the image.

    meow.

I forgot to mention, pvc pipes for poles and I "duct it" near the handle to keep the flag from slipping.

Heck no! Always paint on the ground, unless you have Bob Ross (r.i.p.) skills like that. The paint I get from a local yokel place called Menard's, although I've started to get smaller acrylics from Michael's Craft store.

Thoma how many of these bad boys are you looking to make before opening day? I think I'm going to try to get it down over break and make 1 or 2, waiting for my next loan check before I can really splurge. Maybe I can make 10 to 15 before opening day.

Would be sweet if we could get everyone into this before opening day and have us all hold up the two sticks at the same time during intros. If we had over 100, how bad ass would that be when the team comes out, holding them all up.

I would so like to just shit on the TFC fans in terms of support on that day. They are more focused on KC anyways.

Let's just say that I might make enough to start thinking about a choreo. I'm working on the white two-sticks now, and I'm aiming to work on the black two-sticks next month. The vision and voices:p are telling me to have the pattern going black ,white, then yellow two sticks going from left to right. It doesn't have to be in any order, hell the more scattered these things are the better because I'm sure there will be other tifo going on like banners and flags. If that's the case then the plan would be to have the two-sticks surronding the banners and others. It's WAY too early to tell though.

Yeah I figure just make what we can all make and figure it out at least a month beforehand. I like the thinking though. Either way it is going to look bad ass overall.

May do one nice sized TIFO and the two sticks surrounding it. Or may seperate the two and have the two sticks at intro and then a second half TIFO banner for the team or making fun of TFC. I guess that depends on how many two sticks we can get.

Probably best to put the two together. Just one large banner and then two sticks surronding it because it takes quite alot to fill up the entire section. I mean damn we had three extremely large banners and the jersey for the Eastern Conference and only covered about 35-40% percent of the section at most. :)

What you have pictured for this and what I have similiarly pictured is going to look better than that definately. After I get a little Christmas money, I'll try to make my first one. If we can get a couple more people into this, might be able to fill up a significant portion of the section with these.

Don't have a sewing machine on me, would liquid stitch be an okay substitute? Works for my banners pretty well, haven't had them fall apart yet and they have been road tested pretty well in the section, especially my first one.

Yeah, same problem here. Yo no se, I'm not sure what the problem is. Hey you have a group of people to work on tifo and things, so I'm sure there will be big things seen, yes?
