Remember last year's Open Cup game at Mitchel when Grafer started on his birthday? Metros Lost.

Then there was Tab's last game on his birthday, AKA the Debacle in New England. Metros lost.

Earlier this season, Jonny Walker played on his birthday. Metros lost.

Not surprisingly, yesterday was Steve Jolley's birthday and the Metros lost.

As you can see, this game was doomed before it even started.

Luckily, according to the Official MetroStars Calendar, there are no Metro birthdays scheduled until Mathis' two days after MLS Cup.

Eddie Gaven's b-day. October 25. Playing at New England.

Heck, I knew the game was doomed when someone said that good things always happen on your birthday. (My 16th birthday was horrible because I cried for two and a half hours over a fight with my best friend that, next day, was over nothing.) But, I did keep a slight hope. And, I'm glad that someone else has noticed this pattern.
