an athletic header, skillful but not the best or most beautiful at the world cup. It's up there though.

Well we knew that it would be from a Mexican. Nice header, but I dont think that it was the best goal of WC2002.

THE BEST GOAL WAS PARK JI-SUNG'S chest trap, volley juke, one bounce rocket combination against Portugal. ANYONE who disagrees is Portuguese.

    CHACHI HAS SPOKEN.

    America de Cali Campeon?

you're either portuguese or one of those "Mexican" countries.

    figures...

you tell me just one that's better.

    Borghetti just got lucky,

"Mexican" countries. Whats that supposed to mean. Look at a map and maybe you can figure out what country Cali is in.

Hey, I like Mexico and all, I like Mexican food and Mexican women and Mexican wrestling, but can you honestly tell me Borghetti knew what he was doing with the ball? He was coming in at an impossible angle, and I am sure he was really trying to lay it off to another teammate or something.

Anyways Cali is in Colombia. You could be right about Borghetti goal but in his defense the man is a proffesional so I'll say he knew what he was doing. I myself have been partial to the Uruguyian Rodriguez goal against Denmark. However, I will watch PARK JI-SUNG'S goal again and see if I change my mind.

Jeez, I guess if you think headers are really beautiful.

since some of us seem to think one of our national teams goals in the WC is the best goal in the WC, then I'll say Wolff's layoff to McBride in the USA vs. Mexico game. Reyna beats two defenders, crosses it to Wolff at the near post, who holds off a defender and one times it to a wide open Mcbride at the top of the box, who then one times it into the net. Oh man, the look on Oscar Perez's face! "Please McBride, don't hit me in the face.."

    Most beautiful goal

The best goal of WC2002 was the one by Jeff Agoos. The ball was crossed perfectly and he deftly volleyed it in...

    Re: Most beautiful goal

I have to agree...upper 90...gave the keeper no chance, I just dream about how far the USMNT would have gone if he hadn't gotten injured...

That was w/o a doubt the worst own goal in the history of soccer. He perfectly took the cross and brought it down w/ his natural left. He took the kind of top shelf strike that defines class. No keeper would've even put a finger on it. Too bad he's from Plano, not Bogota. Aye, sidspaceman?
