We do not need typical English passion, courage, bravery etc. We need intelligence from top-to-bottom.

I wonder if kenny and co. have fallen victim to the these armchair and media football tropes: you don't need a DM against lower teams, you need a classic target man, tactics aren't important against lower teams -- just go out there and play our game and you'll win...

We play well against top teams and, for the most part, our tactics are sound against them... It's the lesser teams that we struggle against because tactics go out the window but we're not good enough, yet, to impose ourselves totally...

I don't think Kenny are Clarke are tactically naive, I think they play into these classic misnomers...

(all of the cliches I've mentioned, btw, are ones that rafa did not subscribe to and got blasted for it by the English press AND our own fans)

I still have faith in KK, but I wonder if this will help some folks understand how great of a manager Rafa was.

I'm one of those folks. Rafa was manager when I first became a fan (summer 2006) and I definitely took it for granted.

I generally am an optimistic guy but that was pretty dire today. Only one who looked like he even gave a shit was Gerrard for his first 10 mins.

But Gerrard's biggest flaw has always been that he gave a shit. He's always been an emotional player, and Rafa was the one that helped him become more disciplined, controlled, efficient and consistent. Since Rafa left, Gerrard seems to have slipped into some old habits.

Disappointed to hear Dalglish say that we had bad luck on the goal we conceded.how long will we blame luck and was the expectation a draw then?I agree with some of the posters saying that some average players got their big money lucrative moves but have very little to show for in dedication and effort.

I wondered how long it would take hendo to come tound to that view because he's been one of Adam's biggest supporters. And Adam is the epitome of that stupid footballer.

Re: Dalglish's post match interview, I hardly think he was publicly going to blast the players again, was he? I doubt it. Having said, I suspect he's beginning to realise how poor the players he got are. I'm beginning to think that, like all former greats, is grappling with just how the simplicity of the game escapes the well-paid, mordern footballer.

In a dream land, Rafa and Kenny could work together. Rafa with his brilliant tactics and Kenny with his man-management.

Yeah, while he does make good points, him and a lot of others have continually, and blindly backed Kenny and/or others (Adam, Downing, Carroll, Enrique, Henderson etc) that are not performing up to standards.

Kenny's interviews are useless anyway. That's how it seems he views them. He doesn't seem to realise that he can use them as a way to effect both his players and the supporters in the right way for the upcoming game. A single sentence can change the atmosphere around the club and the atmosphere at Anfield for the next match.

Utopia. One day we'll hopefully have a guy like that leading Liverpool.

Was in the middle of an 18 hour Geneva to Portland odyssey so thankfully missed this one entirely. Apparently, so did a number of the playing staff. Agree with others now's the time to sit the galumpers and play the kids in the remaining league games, go as far as we can in the Cup and call it a season.

A lot of learnings this year - I hope we apply them wisely this summer and beyond. A big one for me is: What do you get when you take Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam, Jordan Henderson and Jose Enrique and sprinkle them with King Kenny pixie dust? Answer: Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam, Jordan Henderson and Jose Enrique

i keep thinking that Charlie Adam is going to play a really solid match and then he shoots himself -- and everyone else -- in the foot...

I want to believe that the team needs time to round into form. I suppose a part of me does.

When Lucas went, so did we.

Carroll is not working out not necessarily because of effort, but because he's slow and doesn't win balls in the air. You can be one or the other, but you can't be bad at both and lead any line in the Prem. Newcastle doesn't even miss the guy.

Matches will be more fun to watch once we all divorce ourselves from the looney idea we're making a run at 4th.

No reason to buy new shoes for Charlie. On current form he'd miss by a mile, although the first man in the wall should be scared shitless.
