This out to bring out the trolls.

I honestly do not mean this as a disrespect to Chivas, but I think we should consider replacing several regulars with some of the deep staff we keep on the bench. Keep in mind our looming date with the Revs on July 9. Here are the arguments for:

    1) Chivas is western conference, so one could argue that the points are less important.
    2) We have several experienced, talented players who need a run to maintain fitness, and could benefit from more playing time together (Reiter, Herron, Thorrington)
    3) The club needs to get a better look at some promising young investments (Barrett, John, Stewart)
    4) We have players sitting on a butt-load of caution points (Marsch, Sega?)
    5) Players who've been iron-men and could physically use a break (Rolfe, Mapp, Thiago, Jaqua)
    6) Painful truth for Chivas fans - The goats are playing so poorly that we might get points with a reserve-heavy squad.

The question for you all is how far do we go? Would you sit anyone? Who?

I see your point, but I have to disagree. You have to remember that we've played at least two more games than everyone in our division, and I think three more than a couple. We need every point we can get now, so that we don't quickly drop down the table later in the season.

So you wouldn't accept any risk here, is that correct? Or might you consider, for the sake of discussion, Barrett for Rolfe, or Will John to give Thiago's knee some time to mend. Nothing?

Basically, I don't want to risk sending out a squad that could cost us points. I would accept the subs you mention though. I'd really like to see what Barrett does with a start, and Thiago could use the rest in midfield as well. Hopefully his knee problem isn't a problem after all, but it's better to give him a day off than to risk losing his talents for any amount of time. Not sure about Will John though, as I've never seen him play. If you've seen him in the reserve league, then cool, but I have no idea how good he is. Maybe give Thorrington a try? We did spend an allocation on him.

Disagree. Three points is three points no matter where it comes from, and the Fire needs all that it can garner.
    That's why there's a reserve league.

Jess is the only player on the "watch list," and if he plays one more game without picking up a card he will be taken off the list for "good behavior"
After Chivas the Fire will be off for a week before the next game.
Agreed, they might, but: 1) I'm not sure that is a chance I'd want to take, 2) the Fire don't need to join RSL as the only teams that Chivas has beaten.
