Onyewu goes 90 minutes in a 1-0 friendly loss to his old team.

blah blah blah. apparently, gooch changed his first name.

Even the quoted official report said that the match was played "au petit trot" which means at an easy pace. Reading the Louviere BB it was described as more of a scrimmage than a true friendly with both teams fielding largely reserves. BUT... one poster says he find found this on a Metz BB:

(Onyewu was excellent - not a single lost ball! He won all duels (50-50s maybe?) except for one where he slipped. Nobody won a header from him!)

Basis enough for growing early season optimism?

This is BigSoccer. That's enough to call him up, hand him a central defender spot and make him captain for life.

So has anyone figured out if Ogushi is playing RB or CB? Last time I checked, BS posters were more concerned with Reyna's pine time in Germany than what our Japanese defender is up to in Belgium.

I didn't see any mention of position in the louviere site or Metz site. My best guess, from the line-up, would be central, but that's only because Piolot is listed first. He is listed as a CD/RB on the louviere site (Gooch is simply an RB) so he may have been getting a look on the right.

Put him in goal, we need a keeper who is better with the ball at his feet.

    Gooch woulda stopped it....

Nah, let's put Paul Ruchubka in goal and then see if we can get Michael Ricketts on the field to handle those long balls out of the back.
