    Mies, SWITZERLAND!
Could somebody explain to me why Lukas Podolski is playing for Germany and not for Poland?

Was the Polish Soccer Federation unable to convince him to play with you guys? Why did he chose Germany?

    Thanks for your help :)

Lukas Podolski left Poland for Germany at a very young age and, basically, learned everything he knows there. He had the choice to play for Poland but he said that he feels German. However, he does speak polish(since that is the language of his parents and family), is dating a polish girl and has been qouted as saying that he hoped both Germany and Poland advance from Group A. I think he left at age 4 or 5, and has been living in Germany ever since. But he went through all the German youth systems and teams and is playing for the country he feels patriotic toward.

My background is similar to Podolski's, except my parents moved to the US when I was 3 and my mother is American...and I am not a professional soccer player :(

If he plays as poorly as he did against the US in the first half then we certainly would not need him. He was absolutely invisible, but that might have been just jitters.
