Why don't you play PES/WE? I find it to be much more realistic. With a patch, you've even got Arsenal and their kits.

I'd rather have the game quality 9/10 with all the real stuff than have a 10/10 with Ronalgo and Gomberto Barlos

Fifa isn't anywhere near 9/10 in terms of gameplay. The only advantage to Fifa is the official licenses, but that is rendered irrelevant by the various patches that you can get (plus licenses are slowly coming).

Online play: I give it to you, FIFA is indeed better than WE/PES in online play. But it's not big enough a reason
First Touch Control: No way man. You are missing the best thing about WE/PES. The best part about the series IS the fact that things like First Touch Control is not prefect in the series. What makes WE/PES so great is its realism and depth. It's so much more meaningful playing a game of WE8, than playing a game of FIFA.

OK lets not turn this into a FIFA vs Winning 11 thread. Ive never played Winning 11 but im sure the game play is better (thats what everyone tells me). Im even going to pick it up one of these days. But now were talking about FIFA 2005 online.

The Limewire Edition works perfectly fine and will be improved for the next release.

WE8 has almost all player names. No team names from the EPL (arsenal is North London), france, germany. All the team names from La Liga, Serie A, and some other league i forget. Altho 8 has a few problems. Can only move in 8 directions :(

Even w/o the team names a quick scan of the roster will immediately clue you in as to which team you're playing with. And fifa is like 2/10 quality wise... and only because the graphics are nice =)

that we agree on... WE is in my mind the best simulation of any sports game... the nuances of the game are sweet... the learning curve on fifa is about 10games... granted, people who take the time to learn the dribble tricks have an added advantage over those who dont want to use them because if timed they are unstoppable... in WE it probably takes about 10games to get all the controls right, one-twos... winning headers, first time crosses, the manual pass, and unlike Fifa where the tricks are an animation, the winning eleven feints take timing AND skill (it took me about a 6months to get the both foot feint and a year to perfect it, which means i can pull it off about 3 out of 5 tries)... then once you learn everything, you get to learn when to use them... the only major improvement in the FIFA series in a long time was their decision to make it so that the throughball did not work EVERY SINGLE TIME... but the scripted goals and the lack new/different ways to score/ the ease with which to score and the crappy goalkeeping engine is annoying.

Mods should move this b/c it is off topic and belongs in the OT subforum. I thank you for reminding me about that yesterday ;)
