So I took this picture of the northend, on a wednesday, against a team we could care less about, LA.

We've read time and time again about those missing "the good ole days" when the Northend was "full" and people participated more...less offensive, etc.

Well, I love photographic proof of all things MLS, as you all may have noticed lately.

So what would you rather have, the old days?:

    Or today's northend:

I'm always particularly entertained by the two guys who smuggled in the rum this week and were dancing around like lunatics jeering at the LA fans. Now THAT'S atmosphere!

    Thanks for the pics.

I do miss Gaulter in the stands... I remember back in the day a lot of chants were started by him.

Wait a minute, those chants sucked and were violently against Tony Blair and the Queen Mum!! I guess the ol' days just weren't that great!!!

What does everybody think of the new smoke machine we have in the stands? For those who don't know, under one of the benches up front, there is now a 4-6 inch PVC pipe with a bunch of holes and such in it and it pumps out a lot of smoke. Who controls this and is the rest of it located under the stands? Are we to look after this or is it just sort of a Crew staff thing? Details, baby, I want em.

Also, who else likes jumping around with the Columbus flag when we scored and such? Its alright, but sometimes I'd rather see the pitch than be covered up by some flag. Of course being at the edge is best.

The pipe should be about 6 feet long. The smoke should shoot into the air above the peeps.

That was one of the things I didn't like about sitting in the North End :( being covered by the flag and not able to see the Crew players celebrate, not to mention the opposing keeper bitching at his defenders.

Still, it's a cool thing to see.

I'm not sure what you mean by shooting in the air above my peeps... it isn't pyrotechnics and my homeboys aren't there bling-blingin, sorry.

Anyway, I think I need to be more clear. by 4-6 inch PVC, I was referring to the diameter... for length, it is probably a good 5-8 feet long.

the smoke machine rules mightily... one of the things to constantly work on with the flag is getting it down before the kickoff, so as little as possible is missed.

    Huh?

Do I now have to picture you with baggy pants at half mast and ball cap turned sideways?

    Yo, dog.

No, but that was the point. I don't dress like that, but I was trying to figure out what CrewDust meant by "The smoke should shoot into the air above the peeps."

If I was going to Bling-bling it, I'd be a bit more expensive than baggy jeans and a ball cap. However, if I had that kind of money, I'm pretty sure I would use it for other things. Like opening a soccer pub before any of these other bastards can and make it impossible for them to get their toes into the market :)

    Have you seen "Training Day"?

I had no idea Denzel could do street:

"Yo, dog, shut the F*** up"

In the bar world, the ratio of planned to executed is somewhere around 1000 - 1. Don't need to be in a hurry.

guy with yellow shirt and army hat (Todd) left the section after the 1999 season (nothing v-army related). He said something about "he was too old for the section". He still goes to the games, just not in 137.

I believe that's Mark on the right, pointing. AFAIK, he moved to Florida?? a year or so ago. He joined v-army and tailgated and all that.

On the far right, yellow hair, I believe that's OGHT.

Couple people behind Todd is Brian. He still goes to the games, just not sure where he sits.

Far back, GAP sweatshirt, I believe that's Cassie and her bunch of friends.
