I met a guy from Naperville in my friends dorm who didn't like the Fire. He lived within walking distance of the stadium and he only went to one game. He said Section 8's chanting annoyed him. It took every ounce of will power I had not to hit him right then and there. He could have gone to 25+ home games by just rolling out of bed and taking a ten minute walk, while I live thousands of miles away. Every time I see him I talk about the Fire. How do you stand being around people who aren't Fire fans, but should be, all day.

That's ok. I had a girl tell me we couldn't go out because she was a Crew fan...

Ive always said we need more people with countries as last names.

I think there were quite a few people at NC and in Naperville that felt that way about the Fire. Oh well, its over anyway.

    deja vu

Bob, I ran into nearly the exact same situation with a female co-worker of mine. She lived at the dorms there as well (nearly across the street from Cardinal Stadium, as she put it). She went to one game with friends but she said she mostly didn't pay attention (AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!). I could barely hold back my resentment.

Funniest thing about it was she didn't go afterwards because she had a run in with Bob Bradley when she was going to run track and the Fire were practicing. She said he was "a complete dick" about it. On the other hand, she did say she saw one of the players in the physical therapy room and said he was hot.

BTW, I did meet some students who had never went but became big time fans when the Fire moved there. I think it was probably a more positive experience as far as gaining fans goes.

That was B.O.B. Tell her we have a new coach now. He's smoother than John Effing Kennedy.

Hala - Already did. Her response? "Good!"

Pyro - Exactly. Couldn't have said it better myself.
