    From Soccer America!

NEW LOOKS: The Galaxy is designing a new uniform for next season, when it moves into its new stadium at the Home Depot National Training Center. A dark green will replace teal as the team's primary home color.

Also rumbling out of the league office is word that Nike is being forced to drop one of its teams.
A source says Nike, which also outfits the Quakes, Galaxy, MetroStars and Fire, will lose its high-profile sponsorship of the Fire. Chicago general manager Peter Wilt refused to comment.

Rumored to be the replacement is Puma, which has outfitted Colorado in past seasons but currently has no MLS team.

Also tabbed for new sponsorship are the Rapids, with Atletica replacing Kappa.

About a month ago I expressed my hope in another thread that the Galaxy would use next year to in a way relaunch their team with a new uniform and new logo to go along with their new stadium. I thought black and orange, similar to their first year uniforms, would be a better scheme than the current teal, but whatever they come up with should be an improvement. Lets hope it comes to fruition.

good thing about being at Atletica team...your players can continue to play in Puma shoes, which are becoming as or more worn by MLS players than Nike are. When Puma enters MLS, I think some of the Nike teams might "persuade" the players to get out of Puma shoes.

As long as Reebock stays the heck out of it, that will be good. So Colorado goes to Blue and Black, and Galaxy goes to dark green (and this has WHAT to do with "Galaxy?")

Atletica is great stuff, but there's just not enough of it. They have great design, but the volume of stuff has not been great. Maybe with 2 MLS teams they'll be better about it.

And considering my own personal bias against Nike, a little less Nike is a good thing.

    Buy this man a pint!!!!!

Maybe the "Galaxy" are trying to be the MLS's version of the "Cosmos", since they can't get the rights to that team!?!?!?!

Hence the change to green??? Hell, my guess is as good as anyones!?!?!?

I hope that a Chicago Puma kit retains the design of the Nike kit. It has become a classic, in my opinion.

I hope that the new away kits that the teams' get won't be white. It gets pretty boring seeing every single team in a white away kit (minus Columbus).

And I also hope that Chicago keeps the bold white stripe across the chest. It is an identifiable look for them, much like Newcastle's white/black stripe, Arsenal's red w/ white sleeves, Ajax's red vertical bold stripe down the middle. You know when you're watching those team play, no matter who makes their kits. Let's hope Chicago stays the same way.

I thought the Galaxy were in juniper not teal. Either way dark green is a great improvement.

Stay away form Arsenal's current uniforms...they are hidieous!!!!! and what the hell is Seamen wearing with the goalkepping kit?????

Like the idea of getting away from the whites...at least wear colored shorts with the white top when away...

..really hope that the Rapids at least use their green uniforms for away while they use the blues for home (so i guess when they play LA, they can stick with their blues...)

    AND STAY AWAY FROM NIKE!!!!

Would love to see a redesign of a lot of team's kits - the Galaxy definitely qualify.

Would also like to see the 2001 Fusion kit again, that's a nice looking jersey.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Fire have a second uniform of a blue jersey, white shorts and white socks. That or possibly of white jersey, blue shorts, and red or blue socks. I just do not like the all white road uniforms.

i though the Galaxy's color was "sea-foam"! ;) Agree that Fire should keep their stripe. Also, my favorite shorts ever are a replica version of the Rev's old Atletica kit. They are unbelievably comfortable, and look pretty good, too.

What does teal have to do with "Galaxy"????

I agree with many here, NIKE has gone off the deep end with their new EPL kits. Arsenals blue is absolutely terrible and Leeds yellows are almost just as bad although you have to look close to tell (a bad fade between a new white to orange through a yellow spectrum).

Adidas has maintained quality kits. Puma would be a nice change for LA but I hope they keep their color scheme,... then again I wish the Rapids would keep their color scheme as well.

Chicago has one of the classiest kits in the league. Hopefully a uniform sponsor change won't mean a kit style change.
