Due to injuries, Yallop had some real challenges just fielding a full lineup for last Friday's San Jose at Colorado match. Brian Mullan lined up on the right side in SJ's usual 4-back line. Usually he plays on the right mid, but due to injuries (DeRosario, Ching) and callups (Donovan) has started a few games at forward this year, too.

Has anyone else in MLS ever started games at D AND M AND F all in one season, or across multiple seasons?

Lurking asked the question first over in the SJ boards.

Kelly Gray did something similar for Chicago last year.

I've always thought that Kelly Gray was a player that Yallop would like to have. He'd fit in well with the Quakes with his versatility.

I think every coach in the league would like to have Kelly Gray.

    Maybe not Hudson.

Sigi might like having him but probably wouldn't have a clue what to do with him.

Not that I follow the gals that closely, but hasn't Chris Albright done this?

Nah, Albright brings it upon himself to be clueless on what role he plays.

Nope, but I believe Adam Frye has.

Albright is a kinetic energy experiment in which he runs around the field in random directions. Through advanced chaos theory, he and the ball sometimes end up in the same place. The collision of the two objects then sends the ball in another random direction.
