Now that we are out of the playoffs its time to think about next season and upgrades. pics of yesterdays game are online! http://miamifc2.com Oh! one last party still available this season: By the looks of things last night, the atmosphere is definitely PARTY! Next Saturday 02SEP at Tropical Park vs. the Battery
There's still hope I believe. Beating Charleston 3-2 in our final regular season game was a must. Now we need for Charleston to either lose or tie their last game with Puerto Rico. The same goes for Carolina and their last two games. Two losses or two draws. I believe we hold the tiebreaker with them in case they draw both of their last games and we wind up with the same amount of points. Unfortunately, they have Minnesota (bad team) and California (even worse) as their final two games. California might just mail it in seeing as though they probably won't be back for next season.
Just like RH said. PLAYOFF BERTH STILL ALIVE! AMAZING!!! What a dramatric finish to the season! All I can say is the Miami earned its goals; not sure about Charleston. Perhaps they didn't payoff the referee enough. Despite the MANY bad calls by the ref that worked agaist MiamiFC; the Blues persevered and went on to Victory on Saturday at Tropical Park with a dramatic header by Nico Mosquera in the 95th minute. It's a loooooong shot! but Both Carolina and Charleston need to tie or loose their rest of their games Thu Sep 6 8:05 pm Carolina RailHawks at Minnesota Thunder Sat Sep 8 10:00 pm Carolina RailHawks at California Victory Fri Sep 7 8:00 pm Puerto Rico Islanders at Charleston Battery
I'm not a big fan of backing into playoff situations, but after watching that last match I believe they deserve a shot (no matter how slim). They were penalized by an idiot ref and still kept fighting. Carolina is away for both. That's good, but I really wish PR was at home for that one against Charleston.
09/06/07 Minnesota 5-0 Carolina FT 09/07/07 Charleston 0-0 Puerto Rico FT Miami FC still alive for the playoffs. One more thing needs to happen. Carolina must lose or tie their last game against the California Victory on Saturday. Either one and Miami is in the playoffs. Carolina wins and Miami is out and Carolina is in. Let's hope California plays lights out for their final game of the season (and possible final franchise game).
Unreal. PR didn't need that game. California only has 17 goals scored. The league average is 30.9. The mean # of "goals for", for all other teams, is 32.5. The last goal Cali scored was on July 26th !! I think the best we can hope for is a 0-0 scoreline, cuz they were outscored 6-0 for the month of August.
Season's over for the Blues. 09/08/07 California 0-2 Carolina FT Carolina grabs the last playoff spot. We need a finisher. We need more goals and a couple more defenders. See ya guys next season.
Damn! And we were oh soooooo close too. Makes me sad to see a top notch team miss the playoffs. I really think that we would have given that #1 seed a run for their money... See ya next season, river.
USLlIve wasn't showing it and by the time I found an audio link, the match was over. I finally got conformation of the Cali loss in another forum. Frustrating........ I'll be stewing for a while... ...about ready to cancel my USLlive ...<sigh>
