Hmm...nope. I just don't see the comedy potential here.

After the first FIFTY MILLION JOKES that popped into my head, that is.

You too can have a McAfrika burger. Made only from ingredients produced on farms taken away from white people.

Beef, cheese, tomatoes and salad in a pitta-style sandwich. Sounds very tasty. I would certainly buy one if they sold it here.

I could swear McD's has done pita sandwiches in the US in the past. Called "McPita" or something like that...

Hey, they coulda cut their losses and moved out long ago. Doesn't matter how long they've been there, either. Writing's been on the wall for over two decades.

    ...tastes like profit...

    In Bad taste (pun intended)

Calling it McAfrika is in bad taste. Both marketing wise and taste of burger. This will be a bomb just like the McRib. I also read crap ronalds is coming out with Hot Dogs. Puh leez.

How about sticking with the tried true classics and leave as such. Leave the menu as is. I am not a McDonalds fan. Burger King and Wendys products are much better in taste, freshness, and served in larger portions.

Why should people who were been born in a place, lived there their whole lives and worked on the land be forced to leave. They didn't know any other home. If Blacks were the victims of such a scheme, I'd bet you wouldn't be so quick to say "the writing was on the wall."

I didn't say they "should". They could have seen that this might be an outcome, though. But why not, if we're going to play by the rules that put them in Zimbabwe to begin with?
You didn't have anything to say about how they came to "own" that land. I'm not morally required to care what happens to them. Bes that way sometimes.

    They soon will. :p

And I'm not morally required to care about starvation when the war heroes fail to produce crops.

This is a classic case of cutting off your nose to spite your face, I'm surprised that you would be so happy with it, Auria.

The foreign aid pimps berate the US for not increasing aid to countries behaving like this. I wonder why we give anything at all, we could increase it by tenfold and it wouldn't matter.

You're right, and not only because of the "foreign aid pimps".

Smiley, I'm no happier with it than you are. But I sometimes reply this way when people post about these issues while trying to pretend that a few generations somehow magically turns colonialism into legitimate moral ownership. It doesn't matter how long these people lived where they do- 'twas ill-gotten land from the start. It's like the LePen supporters whining about France's immigration "problem", when all France had to do was stay out of North Africa, and they wouldn't have this "problem". I have no sympathy for colonizers, and not much more for their descendants.

They came to own that land by either buying it from the British government or by having it given to them by the same. I don't think any of those farmers took guns, chased blacks off a random piece of land and started farming.

You would be well advised to read a few books on history of south Africa, and more specifically, Rhodesia. Ancestors of the majority of the black population were NOT farmers. The land was not owned by anyone when the British came, and in many cases was given to them by tribal leaders or purchased from them.

This is not to justify all the abuses of the colonial system, but a sale is a sale. I don't care what you think about your grandaddy giving away all the land for a few muskets, but he chose to do it.

So by that rationale, the slaughter of Albanians and Bosnians in the Balkans is completely justified, since their ancestors were colonizers of southeastern Europe.

A fence by any other name... They knew the Brits didn't receive control of the land as a gift- it ws taken by force, or if you choose, handed over in an effort to avoid a losing battle.

Who also saw the aforementioned "writing" for their situation. The didn't have the firepower to keep it anyhow. I hope you all don't think the tribal leaders felt they had much choice.

My grandaddy was in Alabama, motherfucker. But if someone comes along and decides to retake it, all bets are off again. Perhaps the Brits can return and help your cousins out with their relocation issues. Or maybe they can just kill all the Black people living there, thus making it safe and attractive for Whites to live there again.

Power strggles don't have any rules.

Well, like you said, all bets are off. If Britain razes the damn place to the ground and kills every black person there, why should I feel bad about it? They should've seen the 'writing.'

Not to mention that since unlike some of the whites living there, none of those blacks are related to me. Blood is thicker than water, innit?

scene from the movie "Red Dawn"

The Wolverines are about to execute two Russian soldiers. But there's dissension in the ranks. Uncertainty controls the situation. One character (Charlie Sheen?) yells out to the hard-core Patrick Swayze:

If we do this, what makes us different from them?

    Swayze replies:

    because WE LIVE HERE!!!

Crack! Crack! Two dead Russians hit the snow.
