Watched Jonathon Spector make his debut for u-19s against the vermin this weekend. Played very well, impressive debut. Only a 0-0 draw though. u-17s beat Citeh 1-0 - how sweet it is.

Did he stick out at all from the other players at all?

Did he get rid of that mulett(sp)?

I've been tryin for a while now w/ no luck and the offical site just plain sucks, no reports ever on youth games and a very non-informative paragraph on reserves games

I go to http://www.rednews.co.uk/ for reports about the reserves games The writer usually attends the game and gives a detailed report

but hopfully he will break away from the u-19 level and join the reserves so we can keep a closer eye on him

On Thursday Nov. 13, we received word that Jonathan Spector has indeed received clearance from FIFA to be registered for competitive matchplay in England. The player will be cleared for match play as soon as the USSF delivers a letter of release to the English FA, considered a formality.'

sorry for not replying sooner - not been on the site for a few days.

Jonathon Spector played the whole game against the vermin on the left side of midfield, more defensive really .Went up for corners etc but didn't threaten to score. Seemed to have plenty of time for eveything he did . We should have won when Sylvan Blake hit the crossbar in the last minute and Ramon Calistte put the ball in the net but was ruled offside. MUtv commentator said that Choccy had chosen this side with next Tuesdays FA Youth Cup game in mind, looks like Spector will play. News on Kenny Cooper, he is playing regularly for the reserves and scored again on Thursday night in the defeat of Lids. United had a very young side playing against a Lids side with 5 players who had first team experience ( Bridges, Domi, Chapuis, Lennon,McStay) Lids scored first through Lennon ( only 16 but a *#*#*#*# hot player ) United equalised through Kenny Cooper, took a pass from David Poole - beat centre half (McStay) and fired home a left foot shot. That in the 73rd minute, on 77 minutes Kieron Richardson ran from his own half and with Kenny Cooper drawing Domi away from goal slipped a pass to Neil Wood who fired home from the edge of the box to make it 2 - 1. For Neil Wood to score with his right foot is a collectors item. Kenny was interviewed on MUtv after the game, he was very nervous and just kept saying its great when you score. He will play in most of the upcoming games because Eddie Johnson is in Dubai with England for the World U19 championship.
Big week next week, Tuesday FA Youth Cup : Wednesday Champions League : reserves on MUtv : I'll post a report on the Tuesday and Thursday games when I get the chance.

Classic example of a stupid rule by FIFA. If the problem is clubs bringing impovrished 14 year olds over to Europe only to dump them flat on their butts 18 months later, make a rule that addresses this problem. Preventing kids from that age in going overseas may prevent that but only in the same sense that avoiding flying altogether prevents you from dying in a plane crash.

And I'm not suprised that an organization headed by a schmuck like Sepp has problems keeping track of it's own rules.
