what the hell is the deal with their minimum minute bullcrap? It is so freakin stupid when a guy who has played so well and plenty of games can't get recognition because of some stupid ass clown in the front office of MLS. I think it's fine to make it so some schlup with only 4 games after all season won't be leading, but if a guy has about half of the season and can't be considered an MLS leader, that I think it's a load of mule-scat!

    Kill stupid people!

Busch was about the only player that was consistantly impressive last night.

Calm down! Busch only needs to play just over one more game and he will be recognized.

Not exactly. That minimum number increases as more games are played.

That is true. However, I can't disagree with the dispatch's MOM.

    961 + 180 = 1141 minutes, will that be enough?

Back in the 32-game era, the threshhold for goalkeeping leaders was a flat 1000 minutes. Under that scenario, Busch would qualify before the halftime whistle in San Jose.

But the past two years, the minimum appears to be based on 45 minutes per game....therefore having played in at least half your team's games.

If that's the case, the Crew's final three games will need to combine to go one minute less than the maximum for Busch to qualify for the GAA title. 100 + 100 + 99 will give Busch 1260 minutes.

I've emailed Alan Plum at MLS to clarify whether or not 1260 will be the final cut-off. I'll post his reply when I get it.

If 1260 minutes are indeed required, then the Presthus "reward" start in Colorado will have cost Busch a crack at the title.

The final threshhold will be 1080 minutes-- an even dozen games.

Barring injury, Busch should pass that mark in the home finale vs. Chicago.

Now all he's gotta do is keep keepin' the ball out of the net.

Was that Busch's fourth shutout this weekend also? The guy has definately been the suprise of this season. I never would have imagined a keeper behind our backline would have the chance to lead MLS in goals against average. It's pretty stupifying.

With JB in the net, it seems as if the backline has stepped up its play as well.

Apparently it has a lot to do with his ability to communicate with his defense. I have heard JB quoted as saying he works hard on his ability to communicate well with his defense.
